Are you a strategic sales professional with experience in technical solutions and complex customer environments? As Government & Defense Account Manager at Materialise, you will play a key role in expanding our presence within the Government & Defense sector by identifying, developing, and growing opportunities with defense contractors, government-affiliated organizations, and other key industry stakeholders.

In this role, you will position Materialise solutions as valuable tools for advanced manufacturing, engineering, and operational readiness. You will work in a highly regulated, mission-critical environment where strong relationship-building, technical understanding, and the ability to manage complex sales cycles are essential to success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, pursue, and win new business opportunities within the defense sector, driving strategic revenue growth across assigned accounts and territory
  • Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders across defense contractors, government-affiliated organizations, and related manufacturing partners
  • Proactively engage decision-makers, program leaders, engineers, and procurement teams to position Materialise solutions as critical enablers for mission readiness, innovation, and operational efficiency
  • Develop and execute strategic account and territory plans focused on expanding Materialise’s footprint in defense, aerospace, and other security-sensitive markets
  • Navigate complex, long-cycle sales environments involving multiple stakeholders, technical evaluations, budget cycles, and procurement requirements
  • Identify customer challenges and align tailored solutions that address requirements related to advanced manufacturing, engineering workflows, software integration, and production readiness
  • Establish trusted, long-term relationships with key accounts to generate recurring business and support strategic account growth
  • Represent Materialise at defense industry events, trade shows, conferences, and customer meetings to strengthen brand visibility and market presence
  • Maintain a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities, deliver accurate sales forecasts, and consistently meet or exceed revenue targets
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal technical, marketing, applications, and leadership teams to support account strategy, proposal development, and deal execution

Your Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Business, Engineering, or a related technical discipline preferred
  • 3–5 years of successful technical sales or account management experience, with a strong track record of winning and growing strategic accounts
  • Experience in defense, aerospace, government contracting, or highly regulated technical industries strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to sell technical software, advanced manufacturing solutions, additive manufacturing technologies, CAD solutions, or related engineering products
  • Strong understanding of the defense market, including the ability to engage stakeholders across engineering, procurement, operations, and program management
  • Experience managing complex sales cycles with multiple decision-makers, formal evaluations, and structured buying processes
  • Proven ability to develop tailored value propositions that address customer-specific technical and operational challenges
  • Strong relationship-building and account expansion skills, with the ability to identify whitespace opportunities and grow strategic account value over time
  • Highly organized and strategic, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to move opportunities forward in complex environments
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with ambitious growth expectations
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Familiarity with defense procurement environments, compliance expectations, or security-sensitive customer requirements is a plus
