Job description

Billing Specialist – Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASC)
Location: Remote | Full-Time

AT&C is seeking a Billing Specialist with experience in Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASCs) to join our growing team. In this role, you'll play a key part in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant billing operations that support the financial health of our clients.

What You'll Do:

  • Review and process billing and coding for accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
  • Maintain and update billing cheat sheets and procedure-specific coding guidelines
  • Review billing packets, correct any errors, and follow up on incomplete submissions
  • Monitor and manage the missing items list to ensure timely charge entry
  • Reduce billing lag days through effective task management and communication
  • Provide feedback and trend reporting to the leadership team and clients
  • Contribute to improved cash flow and financial outcomes for ASCs

Qualifications & Requirements:

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of billing experience in an ASC setting
  • Ability to bill a minimum of 50 accounts per day
  • Experience with at least one Practice Management System (PMS): AdvantX, Vision, HST, SIS Complete, ModMed, gGastro, or Tebra
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and Access
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience with Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) processes
  • Working knowledge of payer contracts and Explanation of Benefits (EOBs)
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations

Preferred:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, or a related field

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

  • Fully remote role – must have a quiet, dedicated home workspace free from distractions
  • Must be available to work Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM CT
  • Reliable secure internet connection and direct phone line access required
  • Ability to remain seated for up to 8 hours per shift (with standard breaks)
  • Occasionally required to lift light equipment, stand, walk, or reach with arms
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, and focus adjustment

  • Competitive salary: The salary for this position ranges from $16-$26 per hour, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and prevailing market conditions.
