Job description

Our client - is an early-stage FinTech company building a new technology platform in the payments and card acquiring space.
The company is currently at the beginning of its journey, which also means something quite valuable for the people joining now: there is no large organisation, layers of processes or a legacy way of doing things you simply have to follow. You will be working on green-field projects with no legacy baggage.

Now the company is looking for an experienced Senior Systems\Business Analyst to help build and maintain institutional knowledge of its acquiring business. This is a business-oriented role, not a technical/programming one. The successful candidate will need to understand card acquiring and payments business end-to-end, act as the bridge between internal stakeholders and external documentation, and maintain the company's institutional knowledge. This role reports to the CTO.

The Senior Analyst will start by building a solid understanding of the business, its needs and expectations. Once they grok the fundamentals, their main duties will revolve around maintaining this institutional knowledge and helping the team benefit from it.

Location: Riga, Latvia
Type: Hybrid, full-time
Start date: ASAP

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain institutional knowledge of the acquiring business, consolidating input from stakeholders across the company into a coherent, structured set of documentation.
  • Act as the link between internal stakeholders and external documentation, ensuring requirements, decisions, and processes are captured accurately and kept current.
  • Run interviews and internal workshops with stakeholders to align everyone around a shared vision of our business and systems.
  • Conduct gap analysis on new systems, and on key business decisions as they're made, flagging risks and open questions.
  • Translate business requirements and decisions into clear, usable specifications for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Document workflows and processes, and keep documentation up to date as the business evolves.

Requirements:

-
Required

  • Solid experience as a systems/ business analyst, ideally within payments or financial services.
  • Strong understanding of financial processes and terminology.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills. You will have to be comfortable running interviews and workshops with people across all levels of the business.
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills, able to consolidate complex, sometimes conflicting input from different stakeholders into clear, usable documentation.
  • Fluent English (this will be the primary working language).

- Preferred

  • Hands-on experience with card acquiring
  • Experience running gap analysis for new systems or process/decision changes.

The company offer:

  • Hybrid working arrangement
  • Health insurance: provided after successful completion of the probationary period.
  • Work equipment: a company laptop and all necessary equipment required to perform the role will be provided.
  • Quarterly personal day: one additional paid day off per calendar quarter, which may be taken without providing a reason. Unused days do not accumulate, cannot be carried forward, and expire at the end of the relevant quarter.
  • Birthday leave: one additional paid day off per year, to be used during the employee's birthday month.
