We are seeking a driven and innovative Software Engineer to join our team and help us build and maintain solutions that grow our Health division. As a Software Engineer, you will be challenged to work with a team in building, designing, and supporting applications that monitor the sale of products regulated by law and policy. You will have the opportunity to work with high volume applications relied on by some of the largest health systems and retailers in the nation. Distributed team, remote-first position.

What You’ll Do:

·       Design, code, and debug all assigned features.

·       Work closely with your team and engineering leadership to ensure the highest standards of design, implementation, performance, and security are met.

·       Analyze application problem areas and propose solutions.

·       Plan and execute unit and functional tests as required to ensure changes meet requirements.

·       Learn and utilize new technologies, concepts, and procedures as appropriate to project requirements.

·       Partner closely with the Product team to translate healthcare workflows into high-performing software. 

·       Use AI-assisted tools responsibly to accelerate debugging, log analysis, and code generation. 

·       Contribute to system design discussions and help shape scalable, maintainable architectural patterns.

·       Improve observability through logging, metrics, dashboards, and alerting best practices.

·       Collaborate in sprint planning to improve estimation accuracy and development flow.

What Success Looks Like…

In 3 months…

·       Develop a strong understanding of the business domain, codebase, development processes, and team standards.

·       Deliver new features and enhancements that meet customer and business needs.

·       Actively participate in code reviews, sprint ceremonies, and technical discussions.

·       Identify at least one opportunity in your role to pilot or apply AI or automation (e.g., streamlining a task, summarizing data, generating content).

In 6 months…

·       Contribute to design discussions and recommend improvements to existing systems and processes.

·       Participate in peer code reviews and help maintain team standards.

·       Build expertise in the team's technologies, architecture, and healthcare workflows.

In 12 months…

·       Consistently deliver on all feature development expectations

·       Suggest ideas for technical enhancements.

·       Be a strong partner with the product and support teams.

·       Become an expert in all technologies used by the development team.

What You Need:

·       Desire to work as a “full stack” developer, on customer facing software and web services.

·       Bachelor’s degree in computer related field or equivalent.

·       5+ years of professional experience designing, coding, and testing of web applications.

·       Proficiency with HTML/CSS with the ability to build web pages that match a given design.

·       Proficiency with Java and Java frameworks (Spring Boot preferred).

·       Proficiency with modern JavaScript frameworks (React preferred).

·       Knowledge of SQL and fundamentals of relational database design.

·       The ability to work independently, manage priorities and deliver results with limited oversight.

·       Knowledge of AWS and Kubernetes is a plus.

·       Comfort using or learning AI-supported tools (e.g., ChatGPT, CoPilot, or role-specific tools) to improve daily workflows.

·       A forward-thinking, curious mindset with an openness to experimenting with new technologies.

·       Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with sound judgment and creativity in designing solutions.

  • Proven ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-growth, and rapidly evolving environments.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote-first environment, ensuring high-quality virtual interactions with minimal distractions. 
  • The ability to travel periodically for work.
