GumGum is looking for a Vice President of Sales who will be instrumental in spearheading GumGum's market-leading contextual advertising platform across Central territories (Chicago, Detroit, and Ohio). Reporting directly to the SVP of Sales, this pivotal executive role requires a proven leader in the online media landscape capable of driving substantial revenue growth, cultivating high-performing teams, and building deep relationships across the advertising community. The ideal candidate brings deep ad-tech ecosystem expertise, strong coaching skills, and the strategic foresight to expand client investments across our media solutions.

Note: This position offers the opportunity for remote work or 'work from home' as there isn't a nearby office. However, GumGum is excited to only consider applicants residing in the local area listed in the job description for business needs including some or all of the following: client interaction, team interaction, timezone, etc.

What You'll Achieve

  • Own revenue for GumGum's Central region — Chicago, Detroit, and Ohio — and consistently exceed target with year-over-year growth.
  • Lead and grow a team of 4–8 sellers, building an inclusive, results-oriented culture where people do their best work.
  • Recruit, onboard, and develop top sales talent, coaching each seller toward stronger individual and team performance.
  • Translate regional strategy into ambitious, actionable goals, then coach your team on the account-based plays that hit them.
  • Build deep relationships with senior brand and agency decision-makers, becoming a trusted advisor on their business.
  • Expand existing client investment by upselling GumGum's In-image, In-video, and broader media solutions.
  • Drive new business through proactive prospecting and qualification across the region's highest-value verticals.
  • Partner with the North American Leadership Team on strategic growth initiatives, and carry client insight back to Product.

Skills You'll Bring

  • A bachelor's degree in media, marketing, or advertising.
  • 10+ years selling digital advertising, with a documented track record of hitting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Experience leading a team against a large book of business ($15M+), with proven results coaching sellers to improve.
  • An established, active network of brand and agency contacts across the Chicago, Detroit, and Ohio markets.
  • Deep ad-tech ecosystem fluency and the agility to adapt as the media landscape shifts.
  • Strong command of Salesforce, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word; you use Seller Crowd and follow the trades for account news.
  • Superb written and verbal communication, with the executive presence to build strategic client relationships.
  • Sharp analytical judgment — you read the data, understand business drivers (P&L, COGS, revenue), and solve problems fast.
