Job description

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:

  • Supports and demonstrates IMA’s core values
  • Values and understands the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion among all IMA associates
  • Leads strategy, growth, and development of the Public & Labor Practice, including building carrier partnerships and expanding brand relationships.
  • Drives sales.
    • Develops targeted sales and marketing strategies for prospects
    • Creates industry-specific resources for producers.
    • Educates producers on the public and labor value proposition and IMA’s consulting approach; serves as a subject matter expert and a resource for producers.
    • Participates in finalist and prospect meetings alongside production staff as needed.
    • Supports the development of RFP responses.
  • Provides collaboration and thought leadership for service teams specializing in public and labor clients
    • Designs tailored strategies and tactics specific to public and labor clients.
    • Shares resources and best practices with service teams related to trends, carriers, and vendors.
    • Encourages consistency and efficiency in best-in-class client service delivery.
    • Serves as a subject matter expert.
    • May lead strategic consultation efforts for one or more clients.
  • Cultivates public and labor talent
    • Develops and helps execute an investment plan for the public and labor practice.
    • Creates development pathways for associates to learn and expand their public & labor expertise.
    • Provides regular feedback to team members and their supervisors to support professional development and maintain high service standards.
  • Collaborates with IMA Benefits national team, Market Leaders, producers, and strategic partners.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS include but are not limited to:

  • 5+ years of experience working with public or labor clients
  • Leadership, strategic planning, ability to influence peers, and ability to work in teams
  • Demonstrates above average business acumen related to strategy execution, interdependencies, and decision consequences
  • Demonstrates positive mindset and ability to optimize performance through collaboration
  • Demonstrates consistent ability to adapt in stressful situations and develop strategies for improvements in organizational effectiveness
  • Demonstrates advanced skills with MS Office Suite
  • Demonstrates strong ability and commitment to excellence in communication, both written and oral, through active listening, information sharing, and a focus on solutions
  • Attains and maintains Life and Health licensure
  • 4-year degree in business or related discipline preferred

Salary Range$180,000—$240,000 USD
