Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Cross-Border Tax Manager to join our growing tax department. The ideal candidate will have 8-10 years of progressive public accounting experience with a strong focus on Canadian and U.S. cross-border taxation, international tax planning, and compliance for individuals, corporations, trusts, and partnerships.

This role will be responsible for managing client engagements, providing strategic tax guidance, reviewing complex tax filings, mentoring staff, and developing strong client relationships. The successful candidate will work closely with partners and other senior professionals to deliver innovative tax solutions to a diverse client base with international operations and reporting requirements.

Responsibilities (Tasks Associated with the Role)

  • Manage and review Canadian and U.S. cross-border tax compliance and planning engagements for individuals, partnerships, corporations and estates (T1, T2, 1040, 1065, 5471, 1134, 1135 etc.).
  • Provide strategic tax advice to individuals, corporations, trusts, with a focus on owner-managed businesses.
  • Review complex tax returns, and related filings for accuracy and completeness.
  • Research and analyze cross-border tax matters and communicate solutions to clients and team members.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships as a trusted advisor.Identify tax planning opportunities and support business development initiatives.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop junior tax professionals.
  • Manage multiple engagements while ensuring quality, efficiency, and timely delivery.


Qualifications/Skills & Experience

  • CPA designation required (both Canadian and U.S. CPA designations would be an asset)
  • 8-10 years of public accounting experience with a focus on Canadian and U.S. cross-border taxation.
  • CPA In-Depth Tax Program completed or in progress is preferred.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Canadian tax legislation and U.S. cross-border tax matters.
  • Experience reviewing complex tax returns and planning engagements.
  • Proven leadership, client management, and project management skills.
  • Excellent analytical, research, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced professional environment

Existing Vacancy: Internal and External 

Compensation: This position offers a starting salary range of $90,000 to $130,000 per year. Final compensation will be determined based on the successful candidate’s education, relevant experience, and skills.
