All HQIN members receive timely, relevant data analyses to guide their progress. In addition, you will benefit from state-specific networking and contact with locally based HQIN improvement experts who are familiar with your setting of care. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) funds HQIN as part of its strategy for attaining national health care quality goals. We coordinate HQIN activities with other CMS initiatives to make your participation easier. Come join us!

Make an Impact on Nursing Home Quality Across the Southeast

Health Quality Innovators (HQI) is seeking an experienced Quality Improvement Consultant to support nursing homes throughout the Southeast. This role combines clinical expertise, relationship building, data analysis, and coaching to help providers improve resident outcomes and quality performance.

Working as part of HQI's Nursing Home Quality Improvement team, you will partner with nursing home leaders, clinical teams, and stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement, implement evidence-based strategies, and achieve measurable results.

What You'll Do

  • Provide consultation and technical assistance to nursing homes
  • Analyze quality measure and performance data
  • Conduct needs assessments and root cause analyses
  • Develop and monitor quality improvement action plans
  • Facilitate educational programs, coaching calls, and webinars
  • Build relationships with facility leadership and interdisciplinary teams
  • Support implementation of CMS quality initiatives and best practices
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and quality improvement leaders

Requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse preferred; other relevant clinical licensure considered
  • Recent clinical experience in a nursing home, post-acute, long-term care, or related healthcare setting
  • Experience with quality improvement, regulatory compliance, patient/resident safety, or healthcare operations
  • Knowledge of CMS nursing home quality measures and performance improvement practices
  • Strong presentation, facilitation, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Willingness to conduct occasional onsite visits within assigned states

Highly Desired

  • Nursing home quality improvement experience
  • QAPI experience
  • Prior QIO/QIN-QIO experience
  • Experience leading facility-level performance improvement initiatives
  • CPHQ, LNHA, RN, or similar certification 

Ideal Candidate: Someone with current or recent nursing home clinical experience who can quickly establish credibility with facility leaders and translate quality data into actionable improvement strategies.

Travel: 

  • Limited (<15%) state/regional travel may be required for QICs residing in the Southeast to visit provider locations. Some non-standard hours may be required for QICs who reside outside the Eastern time zone to support providers or collaborate with colleagues. Travel to Richmond, Virginia, twice annually for all-company meetings is required.

Salary: 

Hiring Range - $65,000 - $90,000  

Salary Range - $69,503 - $98,765
