Senior / Principal Full Stack Software Engineer

To achieve this vision, we’re looking for a talented and driven Senior or Principal level Full Stack Software Engineer – confident on both sides of the stack – to join our team. You will design and build backend services primarily in Java, with experience in technologies such as .NET or Kotlin also valued, and craft modern web interfaces in Angular or React. Responsibilities:

•    Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain high-quality software solutions across backend and frontend. 
•    Participate in the full software development life cycle, including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, and deployment. 
•    Apply best practices and architectural patterns to ensure scalability, maintainability, performance, and security of the applications. 
•    Work in a spec-driven development style: turn product specs into clear technical specs, then deliver against them using AI-assisted tools as a core part of the workflow. 
•    Mentor less experienced engineers through code reviews, pairing, and technical guidance. 

Qualifications: 
•    At least 5 years of professional full stack development experience. 
•    Strong backend experience with Java (Spring / Spring Boot). Experience with other backend technologies such as .NET or Kotlin is also considered valuable.
•    Strong frontend experience with React or Angular and TypeScript, including modern development tooling, state management, frontend testing, and an understanding of accessibility, performance, and reusable design-system components.
•    Experience working across both frontend and backend development, with the ability to contribute effectively throughout the full software development lifecycle.
•    Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), Docker, and CI/CD pipelines. 
Experience designing and consuming REST APIs and working with contemporary relational and/or NoSQL databases. 
•    Ability to write unit and integration tests, refactor existing code, and work confidently with large existing codebases. 
•    Knowledge of software design patterns, SOLID principles, and effective development methodologies. 
•    Understanding of the principles of Scrum methodology. 
•    Open-minded, solutions-oriented, and able to translate end-customer value into engineering decisions. 
•    Good communication skills (spoken and written) with fluent German (B2) and English as essential. 
 
Nice to have: 
•    Experience with microservices, event-driven architectures, or SOA. 
•    Hands-on experience with spec-driven development powered by AI – writing specs that AI tools (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar) can execute against – and previous work in an AI-first engineering environment is a strong advantage. 
•    For Principal-level candidates, demonstrated experience providing technical leadership, influencing architecture and engineering decisions, and driving complex initiatives from concept to production.
 
Salary range for Poland: 
For Senior position:  115-147 PLN per hour
For Principal position:  147 -180 PLN per hour

Salary range for Bulgaria: 

For Senior position: 3700 - 4300 € month

For Principal position: 4300- 4900 € per month
 
This is a remote role based in Poland or Bulgaria. Please note that for Poland we are only able to accomodate B2B contracts.  We are currently unable to consider candidates living outside of those locations.
