Job description

Runpod is the AI Developer Cloud. More than one million developers, from indie researchers to teams running frontier models in production, use Runpod to experiment, train, fine-tune, deploy, and scale AI on one platform. The platform has processed more than 20 billion inference requests. We closed a $100M Series A in June 2026. We're at an inflection point for AI infrastructure, and we're building the platform the next generation of developers will depend on.

We're a small, remote-first team. We take ownership seriously, move fast, and ship work that more than a million developers rely on every day. We're looking for people who care deeply, build with urgency, and want to matter at scale.

We’re looking for a Director, Product Management to define and execute the product vision for Runpod’s AI cloud platform. This role owns the end-to-end product lifecycle for our core offerings, including serverless endpoints, GPU instances (Pods), AI foundational services, developer APIs, and the overarching user experience. You will build and lead a high-performing product and design organization that intimately understands the needs of AI researchers, ML engineers, and developers.

You will partner tightly with Infrastructure, Engineering, and GTM leadership. Your focus is ensuring our platform remains the fastest, most intuitive, and most cost-effective path to training and running massive AI inference workloads in the cloud.

Responsibilities

  • Drive Product Vision & Strategy: Define the long-term vision and short-term roadmap for Runpod’s product suite. Anticipate the evolving needs of the AI/ML ecosystem and position Runpod as the premier infrastructure choice for AI builders.

  • Deep Customer Obsession: Act as the voice of the user. Spend significant time with ML engineers, AI startups, and enterprise customers to uncover friction points, gather requirements, and validate new feature concepts.

  • Build and Scale the Product Org: Hire, mentor, and grow a world-class team of product managers, UI/UX designers, and technical writers. Establish a culture of high standards, user empathy, and rapid iteration.

  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Partner seamlessly with the Director of Infrastructure and Director of Engineering to ensure roadmaps are technically feasible, highly reliable, and delivered on time. Translate complex infrastructure capabilities (like HPC networks and storage engines) into seamless developer experiences.

  • Pricing, Packaging, & GTM: Work closely with Marketing and Sales to define pricing models for compute, storage, and serverless usage that drive adoption while maintaining healthy margins. Guide product marketing on positioning and launch strategies.

  • Data-Driven Prioritization: Establish a rigorous, metrics-driven approach to product management. Leverage product analytics, churn data, and customer feedback to ruthless prioritize the backlog and maximize business impact.

  • Platform & Developer Experience (DX): Champion a world-class developer experience. Ensure our console, CLI, APIs, and SDKs are intuitive, well-documented, and reduce the time-to-value for new users to near zero.

Requirements

  • Product Leadership Experience: 7+ years of product management experience, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role managing other PMs and designers in a hyper-growth environment.

  • Cloud or AI/ML Domain Expertise: Deep experience building SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, or developer-facing products. You must have a strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, GPUs, container orchestration (Kubernetes), and AI/ML workflows.

  • Technical Fluency: Ability to engage deeply with engineering and infrastructure leaders. You don't need to write code, but you must understand modern backend architectures, API design, and the complexities of distributed systems.

  • Proven Delivery Record: Demonstrated ability to take complex, ambiguous problems and turn them into successful, shipped products that drive measurable business outcomes.

  • Remote-First Operating Excellence: Experience building culture, alignment, and momentum across distributed technical and commercial teams.

  • Communication & Storytelling: Exceptional written and verbal communication. Ability to articulate a compelling product vision to the board, the company, and the broader developer community.

  • Background Check: Successful completion of a background check.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct experience launching products specifically for ML Ops, model training, serverless inference, or LLM deployment.

  • A strong public presence or active engagement with the AI/ML and open-source developer communities.

  • Previous experience as a software engineer, ML engineer, or data scientist before transitioning to product management.
