Full Stack Software Engineer

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Full Stack Software Engineer to join our team and drive our relationships with hyperscale clients to new heights.

We are seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to expand and evolve Seastack’s product and platform capabilities. Seastack’s mission is to optimize data centers; providing the data, tooling, and insights to operate data centers more efficiently. This role spans backend systems, data modeling, user-facing features, and infrastructure – owning features end-to-end from concept through production. You’ll play a key role in extending the platform into new use cases and product lines. 

Salary: Starts at $100k/yr + annual bonus (based on experience and qualifications)

Location: 100% Remote - Central time zone preferred but not required 

Hours: Monday - Friday Normal business hours

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, plan and implement key features as part of a highly effective agile team. 
• Contribute to building scalable and high-performance APIs using Python and FastAPI. 
• Develop and enhance frontend interfaces with a focus on usability, performance, and clean UX using React, Next.js, and TypeScript. 
• Design and evolve data models and schemas across systems using ClickHouse and MongoDB. 
• Lead cross-functional technical reviews, align with product and data science teams on integration points, and translate business requirements into scalable system designs. 
• Mentor teammates, deliver actionable code reviews, and help define engineering patterns across backend, frontend, and platform concerns. 
• Contribute to DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and system reliability using Azure. 
• Ensure reliability, observability, performance, and scalability across services. 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 3–5+ years of experience in backend or full stack engineering. 
• Have strong relevant experience in building frontend applications with React, Next.js and TypeScript. 
• Have strong relevant experience in building backend services with Python, preferably using FastAPI or similar frameworks. 
• Experience designing data models and working with both SQL and NoSQL databases. 
• Have strong frontend fundamentals and the ability to build clean, maintainable UI systems, using Tailwind, Shadcn or similar. 
• Strong communication skills and curiosity – great at asking questions, figuring out what needs to be done, building consensus, and implementing solutions. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with ClickHouse or other analytical/time-series databases. 
• Experience with PayloadCMS or other full-stack application frameworks. 
• Experience with telemetry, IoT, or infrastructure data. 
• Strong system design skills (scalability, fault tolerance, data modeling). 
• Exposure to customer-facing engineering or solutions contexts. 
• Experience with Azure or similar cloud platforms and DevOps practices.

Compensation & Benefits Disclosure 

The base salary range for this role starts at $100,000/per year. This reflects a good‑faith estimate of what we reasonably expect to pay upon hire, based on factors such as skills, experience, education, and market/location. Our comprehensive benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, Health Savings Account (HSA), gym discount, mental health, Discounted Group Life & AD&D, Discounted Group Short & Long-term Disability, 401(k) retirement matching, PTO/paid holidays, and parental leave. Final compensation will be determined by job‑related factors consistent with applicable law.
