Job Description

The District Manager reports to the VP, Emerging Markets and holds full P&L accountability for all sites and contracts within their district, leading a multi-site field leadership team and the operations resources and support functions across the region.

The District Manager operationalizes the regional business plan, builds and maintains client relationships, and drives contract performance, safety, and financial results across the district. The role ensures consistent implementation of corporate strategic initiatives across all field operations and supports the identification and development of new business opportunities within the district.

Specific Accountabilities:

Financial & Business Performance

  • Holds full P&L responsibility for all sites and locations in the district.
  • Develops plans and budgets to meet financial targets, with clear business goals established at each location.
  • Accountable for key financial and performance measures, including cost control, EBITDA, and customer ratings scores.
  • Identifies opportunities and best practices to improve profitability across locations.

Client Relationships & Business Development

  • Facilitates, manages, and builds client relationships with support from the Regional Operations Director.
  • Owns client engagement outcomes, including Net Promoter Score results and contract extensions.
  • Identifies, sells, and implements new business opportunities in key markets to meet sales targets in accordance with the corporate sales model.
  • Supports business development requests and proposals within the district.

People Leadership & Development

  • Manages all operations resources and support functions within the region.
  • Mentors and trains all direct reports.
  • Provides leadership to the field operations team, ensuring effective performance management and continued development.
  • Manages a multi-site field leadership team to ensure compliance with proper procedures and guidelines.
  • Supports development of the Hospitality Operations team to promote high-quality customer service and satisfaction.

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Promotes company values and acts as a leader in health and safety.
  • Ensures compliance with employment standards, human rights, health and safety, and WHMIS legislation across all regions.
  • Ensures the region's compliance with corporate vision and priorities through effective interaction with support functions.

Operational Excellence

  • Plans, oversees, and operationalizes the business plan for the region.
  • Strengthens operational processes to build highly efficient and effective operations.
  • Identifies gaps and opportunities in operating standards and guest satisfaction and determines root causes.
  • Coordinates with other department leaders to find solutions to operational problems.
  • Supports the implementation of operational improvements in safety, quality, customer service, finance, and employee performance.

Strategic Alignment & Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Liaises with the Regional Operations Director and other District Managers to ensure consistent implementation of strategic initiatives across all field operation groups.
  • Communicates and shares company standards and available resources that support facility operations.
  • Performs other related duties incidental to the role as required.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

 

  • Post-secondary education in Management or a Business-related field is considered an asset.
  • Minimum of 5 years of Operations/Business Development experience.
  • Experience in multi-unit management, and the hospitality or hotel industry, is considered an asset.
  • Proven leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and think creatively.
  • Demonstrated financial management skills.
  • Demonstrated market awareness, branding, and innovation to create competitive advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to attract, develop, and retain employees.
  • Familiar with current industry technology.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
