Job description

About OpenLoop

OpenLoop was co-founded by CEO, Dr. Jon Lensing, and COO, Christian Williams, with the vision to bring care anywhere. Our telehealth support solutions are thoughtfully designed to streamline and simplify go-to-market care delivery for companies offering meaningful virtual support to patients across an expansive array of specialties, in all 50 states.

About the Role

As a Senior Product Manager at OpenLoop Health, you will operate as a senior individual contributor with broad strategic influence across the organization. This role is both internal and client-facing, with a strong emphasis on partnering directly with colleagues and clients to understand their needs, shape solutions, and ensure successful delivery of OpenLoop's products and services.

You'll own insurance eligibility and benefits end to end — the payer connections underneath it, the tooling our revenue cycle teams work in, the capabilities our clients consume, and the coverage information patients actually see.

Every virtual care visit OpenLoop powers starts with an unglamorous question: is this patient covered, and for what? Get it right and the rest of the revenue cycle works — the claim goes out clean, the patient knows what they owe before the visit instead of six weeks after, and clinicians spend their time on care. Get it wrong and the damage compounds into denials, surprise balances, rework queues, and patients who don't come back. Eligibility is the cheapest place in the revenue cycle to fix a problem and the most expensive place to miss one.

This role is ideal for a product manager who thrives in ambiguity, understands healthcare complexity, and excels at building strong client relationships while driving meaningful product outcomes.

What You’ll Do

  • Define and drive product strategy for insurance capture, real-time and batch eligibility verification, benefits detail, and coverage discovery — aligned with OpenLoop's business and clinical goals

  • Drive accuracy, speed, and completeness of eligibility responses, and define how we normalize inconsistent payer data into benefit information that downstream systems and humans can trust

  • Define how clients consume eligibility through APIs, configuration, and reporting, so capabilities scale across client models without a custom build each time

  • Communicate roadmap priorities, tradeoffs, and timelines to both internal stakeholders and external partners

  • Act as a trusted product advisor to senior leaders across Product, Services, Engineering, and Design teams

  • Write clear, actionable product requirements and success metrics, and hold the work accountable to them: eligibility accuracy, encounters with an eligibility issue at time of service, eligibility-driven denial rate, manual verification touches per encounter, and payer coverage and uptime

Required

  • 5+ years of product management experience, including significant experience working directly with customers or clients

  • At least 3 years in healthcare revenue cycle, payer operations, or health insurance technology

  • Hands-on knowledge of eligibility and benefits workflows specifically — not just RCM in general. You know what a 270/271 exchange does and doesn't tell you, and why two payers can return the same benefit three different ways

  • Working fluency across the wider revenue cycle: insurance capture, claims submission, denials, patient billing, and how upstream eligibility errors surface downstream

  • Demonstrated experience building, communicating, and managing product roadmaps

  • Strong technical acumen — you work directly with engineers on APIs, data models, and integration tradeoffs, and you read the payer documentation yourself

  • Data-driven in practice: comfortable in transactional data, troubleshooting anomalies, and validating hypotheses before building

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with both internal teams and external stakeholders

Preferred

  • Familiarity with virtual care, care delivery platforms, or healthcare operations

  • Direct experience with clearinghouses or EDI transaction sets (270/271, 276/277, 837, 835), or with coverage discovery products

  • Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial billing differences, and with multi-state operations

  • Experience with Healthie or comparable EMR platforms

  • Experience applying AI or automation to verification workflows, with a clear-eyed view of where it's reliable and where it isn't

  • Background in a B2B2C or white-label environment where your product ships under someone else's brand

  • SQL proficiency
