About the Job:

We are looking for a Senior AI Engineer to join our client's team and build production AI agents and enhance the platform capabilities that support them. In this role, you will combine hands-on AI agent engineering with backend and platform development, from understanding customer needs through implementation, evaluation, release, and continuous improvement. You will work closely with customers, Business Analysts, QA engineers, and software engineers to translate business workflows into reliable agent behavior and scalable product features.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop AI agents that can handle different inputs, contexts, and multi-turn interactions.
  • Build agent solutions using instructions, context management, structured outputs, retrieval, grounding, and tool execution.
  • Integrate AI agents with APIs, enterprise data, identity systems, and external applications.
  • Design and maintain evaluations to measure agent quality, accuracy, and performance.
  • Apply AI security, privacy, access control, and responsible AI practices.
  • Analyze agent behavior using conversation history, logs, traces, metrics, and evaluation results.
  • Develop and maintain APIs, backend services, data integrations, and distributed workflows.
  • Contribute to platform enhancements, including authentication, authorization, persistence, observability, and operator-facing features.
  • Implement automated testing across unit, integration, contract, and end-to-end testing.
  • Support CI/CD, code reviews, production issues, performance improvements, and cost optimization.
  • Work with customers and Business Analysts to translate business requirements, rules, risks, and edge cases into AI use cases and acceptance criteria.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and take ownership of solutions from development through production.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in Software Development or Software Engineering.
  • Experienced working on AI-driven projects, preferably involving AI agents or LLM applications.
  • Strong experience with modern software development, including APIs, backend services, data integration, testing, and cloud-hosted applications.
  • Hands-on experience with AI agents or LLM applications in a production environment is strongly preferred..
  • Familiarity with several of the following technologies: Microsoft Agent Framework, Microsoft Foundry, C#/.NET, ASP.NET Core, TypeScript, React, Next.js, PostgreSQL, Azure Cosmos DB, Docker, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Entra ID, GitHub Actions, Application Insights, and OpenTelemetry.
  • Knowledge of AI security, privacy, access control, prompt injection risks, and responsible AI practices.
  • Experience working with modern and up-to-date programming languages, frameworks, and development tools.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with customers and cross-functional teams.
