The ideal candidate is a leader with hands-on experience and high communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the full close and consolidation (monthly, quarterly, and annual)  across all three US entities and the international sub-entities in NetSuite. Build the processes to make that close fast, accurate, and repeatable; establish and hold a published close calendar with a target of a 5–7 business-day close.
  • Own the general ledger, chart of accounts, revenue recognition, project costing and the NetSuite segmentation architecture (subsidiary, department, class, location, and custom segments) that makes practice, project, and client-level profitability reporting possible.
  • Build accounting policies, written processes, and internal controls. Revenue recognition for a services business under ASC 606 time and materials, fixed fee, milestone, and retainer including WIP, unbilled revenue, and the integrity of the path from a consultant's time entry to recognized revenue.
  • Run the external audit as the company-side owner, with a clear goal of a cleaner and faster audit each year.
Manage international accounting and compliance: local-to-US GAAP conversion, statutory calendars, intercompany, transfer pricing execution, and multi-currency reporting.
  • Support treasury and cash: daily cash, banking, the 13-week forecast, debt covenant compliance, and working capital including unbilled and WIP aging.
  • Be the underlying source of truth for our operating metrics utilization, realization, effective rate, leverage, and project margin, work in partnership with FP&A, who owns the budget, forecast, and long-range model.
  • Lead accounting diligence and integration on acquisitions: opening balance sheets, purchase price allocation, NetSuite subsidiary and chart of accounts conversion, ASC 805 setup, and folding new entities into the close.
  • Lead, assess, develop and grow an accounting team from transactional work into technical accounting.

Qualifications:

  • Professional services, consulting, or field services industry experience. Our P&L and rev rec are structured around the  billable hour. This is a hard requirement.
  • Fluency in billable-hour economics: Utilization, realization, bill rate, leverage, WIP and unbilled revenue, and project-level profitability. You should be able to tell us what moves each of these and why.
  • Strong hands-on NetSuite experience, ideally with multiple subsidiaries and currencies. Be prepared to walk us through configuration and reporting you built yourself.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years as a Controller, Assistant Controller, or Accounting Director in an organization with international exposure and consolidations.
  • CPA or CMA highly preferred
  • You have consolidated a multi-entity group with foreign subsidiaries intercompany, eliminations, and currency translation are familiar territory.
  • You have owned an audit from the company side and can describe how you made the next one easier.
  • You have experience building structures, writing policies, documenting procedures, reconciliation discipline, and controls that hold.
  • You operate with strong US GAAP depth, including ASC 606 as applied to services revenue, and ASC 805 for consolidations.
  • You have led a team and raised its capability, not just supervised it.

Desirable:

  • Public accounting foundation, ideally audit.
  • Experience in an acquisitive company: diligence, purchase accounting, and post-close integration, including onboarding acquired entities into NetSuite.
  • Exposure to a transaction, sponsor investment, or sell-side quality of earnings process.
  • Multi-state and international tax and compliance coordination.
  • NetSuite project management, SuiteProjects, or comparable PSA platform experience.
  • Experience through a NetSuite implementation, subsidiary rollout, or major optimization.

Salary Range: $180,000 to $210,000
