ROLE OVERVIEW
 
The Staff Software Engineer is responsible for architecting and building a brand-new, scalable platform that enables business-critical ecommerce capabilities.
This role requires deep full-stack expertise and prior experience in e-commerce SaaS environments. The engineer will design foundational architecture, define technical standards, and deliver a production-grade platform that supports long-term growth, extensibility, and operational excellence.
This is a highly autonomous role with significant influence over system design, technical direction, and engineering best practices.

How you will achieve success:
  • Designs and launches a scalable, production-ready platform from zero to one.
  • Establishes foundational architecture that supports rapid feature expansion and multi-tenant growth.
  • Balances speed of delivery with long-term maintainability.
  • Implements secure, reliable, observable systems aligned with SaaS best practices.
  • Creates extensible APIs and UI layers that enable internal and external consumers.
  • Drives engineering standards across testing, CI/CD, code quality, and documentation.
  • Anticipates ecommerce-specific challenges
  • Acts as a technical leader and mentor while remaining hands-on.

  • What experiences will help you in this role:
  • 8-10 years of professional software engineering experience, preferably in platform services. with deep expertise in data platform engineering, backend systems, and front-end application development.
  • Proven experience building or significantly contributing to e-commerce SaaS platforms.
  • Experience working in high-growth, scaling environments.
  • Strong backend development experience (Python).
  • Strong frontend development experience (React)
  • Experience designing RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
  • Deep understanding of distributed systems and system design.
  • Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP).
  • Experience with CI/CD, DevOps practices, and infrastructure-as-code.
  • Knowledge of secure software design principles.
  • This is a remote position and requires candidates to have an available work-from-home setup
    Desktop/Laptop system requirements:
    - 4th generation or higher, at least Intel i3 or equivalent processor;
    - at least 4GB RAM;
    - Windows 10 and above or MAC OSX operating system 
    - You are required to provide your own dual monitors
    A strong and stable internet connection (A DSL, cable or fiber wired internet service with 10 Mbps plan or higher for primary connection)
    PC Headset
    A high-definition (HD) external or integrated webcam with at least 720p resolution.
