Job description

Our Customer Outcomes team turns blockchain intelligence into operational capability for our customers. We work with financial institutions, crypto businesses, regulators, and law enforcement agencies across EMEA. We combine technical depth with commercial judgment, owning the customer relationship from early sales engagements through renewal and expansion. It's a small, high-ownership team where individual impact is visible.

As a Deployment Strategist, you own the pre and post-sale relationship for a portfolio of strategic accounts in West and Southern Africa. You lead deployments, drive adoption, and act as the technical advisor customers rely on when the stakes are high. You translate complex compliance and investigative workflows into working solutions on our platform. The role suits someone equally comfortable in a customer's compliance team or government agencies in an executive QBR.

Please note we are only looking to hire people that are based/willing to locate to Johannesburg

In this role, you’ll:

  • Own onboarding and deployment for strategic accounts, building adoption plans with clear success criteria

  • Advise compliance, investigations, and executive stakeholders as their primary technical point of contact

  • Deliver product training, workshops, and enablement that turn new users into confident daily users

  • Translate customer workflows and pain points into solution designs, integrations, and platform configurations

  • Monitor usage and engagement trends to surface expansion opportunities and early churn risk, and act on both

  • Partner with Sales on renewals, expansion, and account strategy, contributing directly to retention and growth targets

  • Collaborate with Support, Product, and Engineering to resolve escalations and channel structured field feedback into the roadmap

  • Represent the company at industry events, customer forums, and conferences across the region

  • Contribute to team playbooks and documentation that scale how we serve customers

We’re looking for candidates who have:

  • 5+ years in customer-facing roles at a high-growth technology company: customer success, solutions architecture, presales, technical account management, or enterprise consulting

  • A track record of owning enterprise accounts, including managing senior and executive stakeholders through complex, multi-month deployments

  • Working knowledge of cryptocurrency and blockchain: how transactions, wallets, exchanges, and stablecoins work, and how they intersect with AML, compliance, or investigative workflows

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Professional fluency in English

  • Comfort with technical concepts such as APIs, data analysis, and logic-based workflows, with and without AI agents.

  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with a high degree of ownership

Nice to have experience:

  • Direct experience in financial crime, AML/CFT, fraud, law enforcement, or financial regulation

  • Hands-on experience with blockchain intelligence or analytics tooling

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CAMS, CCI, equivalent)

  • Experience supporting public sector customers or financial institutions in Africa

  • An additional European or Arabic language

AI at Chainalysis
AI is not a feature at Chainalysis - it is a new way of working. One that turns instructions into work done, and helps us move faster than the threats we're built to counter, and we expect our employees to take ownership of the output and ensure quality. As the world's most trusted blockchain analytics platform, Chainalysis sits at a rare intersection of proprietary data, regulatory relationships and crypto expertise that makes it uniquely placed to shape and lead the next era of AI-driven intelligence - and we expect everyone here, regardless of role, to be an active part of it.

AI fluency is tied directly to how we measure performance and how we plan to win. There is no substitute for your own curiosity. We provide the tools, workflows, and space to experiment - but the expectation is that you develop these capabilities yourself, bring ideas, and collaborate across teams to reinvent the way work gets done. We are not using AI to do less. We are using it to do what was never possible before.
