Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the integrated transformation portfolio across priorities, capacity, value, dependencies, risk, and readiness.
  • Drive portfolio prioritization decisions to maximize business impact and strategic value realization.
  • Recommend sequencing and investment trade-offs to optimize transformation outcomes and resource allocation.
  • Establish and govern enterprise-wide value realization frameworks, metrics, and benefit tracking processes.
  • Partner with Finance to validate business cases, benefit assumptions, baselines, and performance measures.
  • Deliver actionable portfolio insights and scenario analyses to support executive decision-making.
  • Identify risks, value leakage, capacity constraints, and execution challenges; drive corrective actions.
  • Oversee artificial intelligence use case intake, triage, governance, and cross-functional review processes.
  • Foster alignment across Strategy, Finance, Technology, and business leaders on transformation priorities.
  • Build and lead a high-performing team that promotes rigor, transparency, and results-driven execution.

Essential Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, analytics, life sciences, healthcare, engineering, technology, or related discipline required. MBA, MS, or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
  • 12+ years of experience in portfolio management, enterprise PMO, transformation office, strategy execution, finance, consulting, business operations, or value-realization leadership. 
  • Experience in pharma, biotech, healthcare, technology, or consulting organizations with high-volume intake, AI/digital case review, transformation funding, and benefits realization. 
  • Proven ability to build portfolio governance, intake, prioritization logic, decision forums, value taxonomies, scorecards, and executive reporting for a complex transformation portfolio. 
  • Experience challenging business cases, baselines, assumptions, benefit ownership, double-counting risk, capacity constraints, and readiness gaps. 
  • Strong financial and analytical experience, including scenario analysis across value, capacity, timing, risk, dependencies, and investment trade-offs. 
  • Ability to create fact-based transparency and force enterprise-level decisions when demand exceeds capacity or evidence does not support investment. 
  • Portfolio prioritization; value-realization design; business-case challenge; financial acumen; KPI and benefits tracking; governance design; executive reporting; scenario modeling; stakeholder influence; risk and dependency management. 

Desirable Requirements:

  • Experience partnering with Finance, Strategy, Commercial, Technology, P&O, Legal, ERC, and business leaders on prioritization and portfolio governance. 
  • Experience with transformation analytics, Power BI/Tableau, portfolio management tools, AI-use-case triage, and product/Agile portfolio models. 

Novartis Compensation Summary:

The salary for this position is expected to range between $236,600 and $439,400 per year.

The final salary offered is determined based on factors like, but not limited to, relevant skills and experience, and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically. Novartis may change the published salary range based on company and market factors.

Your compensation will include a performance-based cash incentive and, depending on the level of the role, eligibility to be considered for annual equity awards.

US-based eligible employees will receive a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, life and disability benefits, a 401(k) with company contribution and match, and a variety of other benefits. In addition, employees are eligible for a generous time off package including vacation, personal days, holidays and other leaves.

Salary Range

$236,600.00 - $439,400.00
