About Fayara

Fayara is a fast-growing digital company focused on building innovative products in the online social interaction, and relationship-tech space. We create platforms that help people connect in meaningful, engaging, and dynamic ways. With a data-driven approach and a passion for sleek user experiences, Fayara brings modern technology into the world of human connection.

We particularly welcome software developers with current experience in PHP, though we are also open to talented developers who have worked with other web technologies and are comfortable working with PHP.

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced PHP Developer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will develop scalable backend systems, build new platform features, optimize performance, and collaborate closely with product, UX, and growth teams. You will contribute to the technical backbone powering millions of user interactions across our dating and social discovery products.

While PHP experience is preferred, we encourage developers who have experience with other web technologies to apply, as long as they are comfortable working with PHP and eager to contribute to our backend systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance backend features for Fayara platforms using PHP (preferably PHP 8+).

  • Build scalable APIs and backend services supporting mobile and web clients.

  • Collaborate with designers and product managers to deliver new matchmaking, messaging, and user-engagement features.

  • Optimize application performance, database queries, and caching layers.

  • Integrate third-party APIs and internal microservices.

  • Write clean, secure, and testable code following modern PHP standards (PSR, OOP, MVC).

  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to best-practice engineering culture.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues.

  • Work with data teams to implement analytics, user-behavior tracking, A/B testing features, and recommendation logic.

We value candidates with current PHP experience, but we are also open to developers coming from different web programming backgrounds who are comfortable working with PHP and eager to grow their skills.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional PHP development experience.

  • Strong understanding of Laravel, Symfony, or similar modern PHP frameworks.

  • Proficiency with MySQL, PostgreSQL, or similar relational databases.

  • Experience integrating APIs and working with RESTful services.

  • Familiarity with Redis, Memcached, or other caching systems.

  • Understanding of application security, authentication, and user-data protection.

  • Solid knowledge of Git workflows and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, experiment-driven environment typical of growth-focused startups.

While PHP experience is preferred, we welcome candidates with experience in other web technologies who are comfortable working with PHP and committed to building high-quality backend systems.

Nice to Have (not necessary)

  • Experience with matchmaking logic, messaging systems, or real-time event-driven architectures.

  • Knowledge of microservices architecture and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Background in high-traffic systems or large-scale consumer applications.

  • Familiarity with front-end frameworks (Vue) is a plus.

  • Understanding of user-behavior analytics for dating/social platforms.
