Senior Full Stack Developer, UCaaS Platform

This is a remote position.

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Senior Full Stack Developer to join our rapidly expanding organization. This individual will become an integral part of our UCaaS development team. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of Cloud Software Engineering, the successful candidate will assume the role of a senior architect and developer, offering guidance and supervision to other team members. The responsibilities associated with this position include:

• Acting as the technical architect for ClearlyIP’s UCaaS development team.
  

• Providing guidance and code reviews to other development team members.
  

• Designing and implementing (i.e code) backend and frontend software for the UCaaS platform.
  

• Performing troubleshooting and analysis for issues reported by Quality Assurance, Support, or customers.
  

• Integrating third-party cloud APIs and libraries.
  

• Designing and developing scalable, distributed APIs and software, with a strong emphasis on security, scalability, and reliability.
  

• Utilizing strong analytical skills to comprehend performance indicators and optimize services and networks as required.
  

• Managing redundant services and clusters that necessitate high availability.
  

• Employing best practices in coding and software development to produce highly efficient, scalable, and secure software.
  

Requirements

Skills & Background:

To qualify for this position, candidates must demonstrate a good enough knowledge of English and/or french with some basic knowledge of the second language in order to be able to properly exchange, communicate and collaborate  within a dynamic and  multi cultural environment

A minimum of five years of comprehensive experience in web application development is required, encompassing both backend and frontend development on Linux-based operating systems. Key technical skills include a strong command of modern JavaScript and extensive knowledge of at least one of the leading JavaScript frameworks, specifically VueJS or ReactJS. Furthermore, candidates should possess knowledge of at least two backend development languages from a broad selection, including Ruby, Java, PHP, C, C++, Rust, and Go.

A solid understanding of network protocols, particularly WebSockets and HTTPS, is essential for building secure and efficient web applications. The ideal candidate will also exhibit a strong aptitude for quickly learning and adapting to new technologies and development tools, crucial in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.

In terms of data management, good knowledge of relational databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL is expected. Strong proficiency in source control tools like GIT and Subversion is also critical for collaborative development and version management. The role requires a good understanding of multi-system-based applications, indicating the ability to work with complex, distributed architectures.

Excellent backend and frontend debugging skills are a must, enabling efficient troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues. Candidates should have proven experience in building scalable and redundant server-side software and APIs on the Linux platform, ensuring high availability and performance of applications.

While not strictly required, experience with Voice over IP (VoIP) and open-source telephony stacks, such as Asterisk and Freeswitch, is considered a significant asset. Similarly, experience with WebRTC (Web Real-Time Communication) would also be advantageous for this role.
