Senior Unreal Engine Developer - Defcon Zero | TriArts Studio | Hybrid

Join the team building Defcon Zero - a high-fidelity RTS on Unreal Engine 5. We're looking for a developer to own the full technical side of the game: gameplay systems, editor tooling, optimisations, and engine-level work. You won't be a cog in a large studio machine. You'll have direct ownership and your code will ship.

What you'll own

• Gameplay mechanics: unit systems, combat, AI, economy logic
• Editor tooling: custom UE5 tools for fast design iteration
• Performance & optimisation: profiling, CPU/GPU budgeting at RTS scale
• Engine development: subsystems, rendering tweaks, custom plugins

REQUIREMENTS

• 3+ years of professional Unreal Engine development.
• Strong C++ - comfortable working directly in the engine source
• Shipped a complete game or a significant feature in a shipped title
• Solid grasp of RTS/strategy systems: pathfinding, fog of war, unit AI, economy
• Fluency with UE's gameplay frameworks.
• Able to work independently and communicate clearly in a collaborative team
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)

Nice to have

• Mass Entity (UE5 ECS) for large-scale unit simulation
• Custom editor plugins or Editor Utility Widgets
• Passion for the RTS genre
