We are looking for a hands-on Senior AI Engineer in Argentina to design, build, and deliver cutting-edge AI-powered features within a Microsoft Azure environment. This role sits at the intersection of applied AI, backend engineering, and product development, and is ideal for someone who thrives on turning ideas into production-ready intelligent systems on the Microsoft stack.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and deliver AI-powered features based on functional and technical requirements provided by TPMs and Principal AI Engineers
- Develop end-to-end AI solutions, including backend services, APIs, and application-layer integrations, deployed on Azure App Service, Azure Functions, or AKS
- Integrate large language models (LLMs) into production systems via Azure OpenAI Service, ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability
- Design, test, and optimize prompts to improve output quality and consistency, using Azure AI Studio for prompt experimentation and evaluation
- Collaborate with ML Engineers to embed models trained or fine-tuned on proprietary data — via Azure Machine Learning — into applications
- Participate in model evaluation and validation, ensuring outputs meet quality, accuracy, and performance benchmarks
- Support testing and deployment of AI features through CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps
- Monitor AI feature performance in production using Azure Monitor and Application Insights
- Troubleshoot and refine AI behaviours in real-world production scenarios
Qualifications
- Strong experience in software engineering, with a focus on backend development (Python preferred)
- Hands-on experience working with large language models, particularly through Azure OpenAI Service (GPT models via Azure)
- Experience designing and integrating APIs and microservices on Microsoft Azure
- Familiarity with prompt engineering and LLM optimization techniques, ideally using Azure AI Studio or similar Microsoft tooling
- Understanding of model evaluation frameworks and performance metrics
- Experience working with ML Engineers or deploying ML models into production environments via Azure Machine Learning
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and modern deployment practices using Azure DevOps
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
Nice-to-Have
- Experience with vector databases, embeddings, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) using Azure AI Search
- Exposure to fine-tuning models or working with proprietary datasets via Azure Machine Learning
- Familiarity with the broader Microsoft Azure data and AI ecosystem (Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse, Microsoft Fabric)
- Experience building scalable AI/ML systems in production on Azure
- Microsoft certifications (e.g., Azure AI Engineer Associate) considered a plus
