Job Description

  • Lead complex labor and employment matters from initial intake through resolution.
  • Develop and execute litigation strategies tailored to each client's goals and circumstances.
  • Advise clients on a broad range of employment law issues with clear, practical, and business-minded guidance.
  • Conduct sophisticated legal research and analyze statutes, regulations, case law, and emerging employment law developments.
  • Draft and review pleadings, motions, briefs, agreements, correspondence, and other legal documents.
  • Negotiate settlements, participate in dispute resolution, and advocate effectively for favorable client outcomes.
  • Manage case strategy and coordinate effectively with attorneys, legal staff, and other internal resources.
  • Mentor and provide leadership to legal team members while maintaining high standards of quality and client service.
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with clients through responsive communication and thoughtful legal counsel.
  • Contribute to business development, practice growth, and broader firm initiatives.
  • Help advance a culture centered on collaboration, empathy, integrity, diversity, and innovation.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
  • Active North Carolina bar license.
  • 5+ years of labor and employment law experience.
  • Strong employment litigation experience, including case management, pleadings, motions, discovery, negotiations, and dispute resolution.
  • Experience providing employment law counseling and practical legal advice.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, negotiation, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex matters independently and strategically.
  • Leadership, mentoring, or legal team management experience preferred.
  • Strong client-service mindset and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Commitment to client-centered advocacy, collaboration, and inclusive workplace values.
