Job description

As an On-Chain Compliance Engineer, you will design, build, integrate, and operate technology capabilities that enable ING to monitor, assess, and control compliance risks in digital asset activities.

You will work at the intersection of software engineering, financial crime compliance, AML/CFT, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, Travel Rule requirements, data engineering, and regulatory technology.

Your mission is to help ING detect and prevent financial crime risks linked to digital assets by creating scalable, automated, explainable, and auditable compliance controls for on-chain activity.

This is a hands-on engineering role with strong compliance awareness. You are not expected to be a pure compliance officer, but you should understand how regulatory obligations translate into technical controls, data models, APIs, alerting workflows, case management, and evidence trails.

Work Model

At ING Hubs Türkiye, flexibility is more than a benefit—it's part of how we work.

Our hybrid way of working is designed to balance collaboration, innovation, and personal flexibility. Team members typically come together at our Vadistanbul office for two days per week during three weeks of the month, while one week each month is fully remote.

We also provide additional flexibility throughout August with remote working opportunities, allowing colleagues to remain productive while staying connected with their teams.

As part of a globally distributed organization, you'll collaborate with colleagues across multiple ING locations and contribute to solutions used across the bank.

About the Team

You will join an international technology organization where ownership, knowledge sharing, collaboration, and engineering excellence are at the heart of everything we do.

Our teams design and deliver critical technology platforms that support ING's digital transformation journey. We believe scalable architectures, strong engineering practices, automation, and continuous learning are essential for delivering reliable solutions at scale.

About You

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Engineering, Cyber Security, Mathematics, Finance Technology, or a related field.
  • Equivalent hands-on experience may also be considered.

Preferred

  • Blockchain, digital assets, AML, sanctions, or financial crime-related certifications.
  • CAMS, ICA, Chainalysis certification, TRM certification, Elliptic certification, or similar.
  • Security, data engineering, or DevOps-related certifications are a plus.

Compliance & Risk Knowledge

  • Understanding of AML/CFT, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, customer due diligence, enhanced due diligence, and suspicious activity reporting.
  • Familiarity with blockchain analytics, wallet risk scoring, transaction tracing, and crypto typologies.
  • Awareness of Travel Rule requirements and the importance of originator and beneficiary information in crypto-asset transfers.
  • Understanding of EU digital asset regulation, including MiCA and related AML/CFT expectations for crypto-asset service providers.
  • Ability to work in a regulated banking environment where traceability, control evidence, privacy, security, and auditability are essential.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with blockchain analytics platforms such as Chainalysis, TRM Labs, Elliptic, Merkle Science, Scorechain, Crystal, or similar tools.
  • Experience with case management, alert triage, investigation workflows, or financial crime platforms.
  • Knowledge of tokenization, digital assets, stablecoins, CBDCs, tokenized deposits, custody, settlement, and wholesale banking use cases.
  • Experience with permissioned blockchain platforms such as Corda, Hyperledger Fabric, Hyperledger Besu, Quorum, or Ethereum-compatible networks.
  • Knowledge of DeFi protocols, decentralized exchanges, mixers, bridges, privacy-enhancing tools, and smart contract risk.
  • Experience with graph analytics, network analysis, entity resolution, anomaly detection, or machine learning for fraud/AML use cases.
  • Experience with data governance, lineage, retention, privacy, access control, and audit evidence.
  • Experience working with global teams, multi-country regulatory requirements, and enterprise architecture standards.
