As a Field Service Engineer III, you'll provide expert installation, maintenance, and repair services for sophisticated laboratory automation equipment (Robotic movers and Microplate handling) and dynamic scheduler software. Working with advanced technology, you'll deliver outstanding technical support while building strong relationships with customers across research institutions, universities, and industrial facilities. You'll resolve complex issues, conduct preventive maintenance, and train users to ensure optimal system performance. Location

This is a remote role based in Maryland region and will require up to 75% travel within the designated territory including VA, NJ, and PA.  Relocation assistance is not provided. 

Keys to Success

Education

  • Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or advanced degree in Electronics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or a related technical discipline, with an appropriate combination of education and relevant technical experience (7+ years with an Associate’s, 5+ years with a Bachelor’s, or 3+ years with an advanced degree)
  • Complete and maintain all company-required technical training and certifications required

Experience

  • Experience installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating sophisticated mechanics
  • Demonstrated expertise to independently troubleshoot low-voltage electronics and complex electro-mechanical systems
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities across hardware, software, and networking issues
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documentation, schematics, and engineering drawings
  • Previous experience training or mentoring others preferred

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and proven ability to build positive customer relationships
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining strong team collaboration
  • Availability to respond to urgent customer needs
  • Ability to follow all safety protocols and be able to work in cleanroom environments when required
  • Proficient with Windows operating systems, networking, and standard business software
  • Professional working proficiency in English; additional languages beneficial
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in laboratory environments

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
  • Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screen
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel 75%

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in Maryland is $40.06–$48.07.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
