We compared the job requirements to your profile to show where you're strong and where you fall short.
Synera ships today as a desktop app. Your job is to change that — lift the backend into containers, build the on-prem server product from its first commit, and make the whole platform a breeze to operate. If you've ever looked at a monolith and thought "I know how to take this apart," this is the role. 🚀
Synera is the leading AI Agent Platform for Engineering — companies like BMW, Airbus, NASA, and Hyundai use it to build autonomous digital engineers that execute real work inside CAD, CAE, and PLM tools. Today the product runs as a Windows desktop application. We're building a server-hosted product customers can deploy on their own infrastructure, and you'll join the team that owns the transition end to end.
You'll be the first engineer on our new Platform team. That means extracting the .NET backend from its desktop dependencies, containerizing it with Docker, and standing up the CI/CD, install, upgrade, and licensing flows for on-prem deployment as well as taking over auth tasks. In parallel, you'll join our efforts to make the platform AI-native: building MCP servers, agent skills, and documentation written for AI agents — not just humans — to operate the platform. As the work matures, you'll contribute to growing a small, senior team around it.
You'll report to Ben and work closely with Sven and the broader engineering org, including being part of the Chaotic Chimeras team in the beginning. This is real ownership: you drive work to a finished, deployed state and raise blockers early.
Monday: Daily standup with the Chimeras team, then a deep focus block untangling the backend from its desktop dependencies. Every other Monday you join the cross-team dev share to swap learnings with engineers from the other teams.
Tuesday: Heads-down getting a service running headless inside a multi-stage Docker image. On alternating Tuesdays the team runs an AI experimentation day — you point a new agent or tool at a real platform workflow and see what sticks.
Wednesday: Work on the CI/CD pipeline so images build, test, and publish on their own.
Thursday: Sprint review and planning. You demo the latest slice of the migration, scope the next one, then work on the on-prem install flow — upgrade, rollback, and licensing for a customer-run server.
Friday: Every other Friday afternoon is yours for upskilling — a conference talk, a new tool, or a book from your €2,000 development budget.
The backend runs headless in Docker across dev, test, and staging — fully lifted out of its desktop dependencies.
A first on-prem deployment is live in an internal or friendly-customer environment, and CI/CD builds, tests, and publishes images without anyone babysitting it.
The platform's first MCP server or agent skill is in use, with deployment docs written for AI agents to act on.
Customers install, upgrade, and roll back the on-prem server themselves — the migration is proven end to end at a real customer site.
The Platform team has grown to two or three engineers, and the standards and onboarding you wrote make them productive fast.
MCPs and agent skills cover the main deploy and operations workflows, and internal teams reach for them day to day.
Observability is live in production, not just planned. Telemetry giving real visibility into every deployed instance, so "is it healthy" is a dashboard, not a Slack message to you.
First steps are made towards a fully cloud-native Infrastructure setup, that could power a SaaS solution.
