Job description

Summary:          

The Forward Deployed Program Trainer is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering the technical training programs that prepare Forward Deployment Engineers (Delta track) and Deployment Strategists (Echo track) to successfully implement and support AI-powered solutions within Palantir Foundry. This role serves as the subject matter expert for Foundry enablement, creating competency-based curriculum, facilitating instructor-led and self-paced learning, developing technical assessments, and continuously evolving training based on real-world client delivery needs. Working closely with engineering leaders, hiring managers, and Palantir subject matter experts, the Forward Deployed Program Trainer ensures new hires and existing team members build the technical knowledge, practical skills, and client readiness required to deliver successful Foundry implementations. This is a hands-on training and curriculum development role requiring deep Palantir Foundry expertise, exceptional facilitation skills, and a passion for developing high-performing technical talent.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Design & Develop Technical Curriculum

  • Design and maintain the core Fast Forward onboarding curriculum for both Delta (technical) and Echo (deployment strategy) tracks.

  • Create structured learning paths covering:

    • Palantir Foundry fundamentals

    • Ontology concepts

    • Pipeline Builder

    • Workshop applications

    • Data integration and modeling

    • Role-specific workflows

  • Develop instructor-led, virtual, and self-paced learning experiences.

  • Create technical labs, exercises, documentation, and learning guides.

Deliver Training

  • Facilitate onboarding for each Fast Forward cohort through live instruction, workshops, office hours, and structured check-ins during the first 90 days.

  • Deliver technical upskilling programs for experienced Forward Deployment Engineers and Deployment Strategists.

  • Coach learners through hands-on Foundry projects and practical implementation scenarios.

  • Adapt instruction based on varying experience levels while maintaining consistent competency standards.

Build Assessments & Capstone Experiences

  • Translate competency frameworks and career ladder expectations into measurable learning objectives.

  • Develop technical assessments that provide hiring managers meaningful readiness signals beyond interview performance.

  • Design capstone projects that simulate real client delivery work.

  • Define evaluation criteria that support placement decisions and career progression.

Partner with Technical Leadership

  • Collaborate with engineering leaders, delivery managers, and hiring managers to identify emerging skill gaps.

  • Continuously evolve curriculum based on client implementations, product enhancements, and lessons learned from delivery teams.

  • Partner with an external Palantir SME to validate curriculum quality and ensure alignment with Foundry best practices.

  • Maintain documentation, learning materials, and technical standards across all programs.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Education, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 2-5 years of experience working with technical enablement, training, instructional design, or technical education.

  • Hands-on experience implementing or configuring Palantir Foundry in production environments.

  • Experience designing and delivering technical curriculum specifically for Foundryβ€”not generic enterprise software training adapted for Foundry.

  • Experience facilitating onboarding or enablement programs for technical or client-facing Foundry roles, including Forward Deployed Engineers, Deployment Strategists, FDSEs, or comparable positions.

  • Demonstrated experience teaching:

    • Ontology

    • Pipeline Builder

    • Workshop applications

    • Data modeling

    • Foundry development workflows

  • Strong instructional design skills with experience building competency-based learning programs.

  • Experience facilitating highly technical audiences and confidently answering detailed implementation questions.

Technical Knowledge

  • Deep understanding of the Palantir Foundry platform

  • Data pipelines and transformation workflows

  • Ontology design principles

  • Workshop applications

  • Data integration concepts

  • AI-enabled delivery workflows

  • Technical solution implementation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience at Palantir Technologies

  • Former Forward Deployed Software Engineer (FDSE) or Deployment Strategist

  • Experience working for a Palantir implementation partner

  • Experience building certification programs or competency-based assessment frameworks

  • Experience developing training for both technical and client-facing audiences from a shared curriculum

  • Familiarity with AI, LLMs, automation, or modern data platforms
