Job description

About Apollo Ghana

Apollo Ghana is the offshore services hub for Apollo — a Mission-Critical Infrastructure Engineering, Construction, Commissioning, and Operations Support Services Company. Apollo serves mission-critical industries globally with commissioning, emergency response, operations support, and owner's representative services, executing projects across multiple states in the United States, in Canada, and in Brazil.

Apollo Ghana was established to extend Apollo's delivery capability through an offshore support model. The team currently delivers mission-critical value through commissioning documentation management, MEP coordination support, and quality assurance services provided remotely to Apollo's North American and international project portfolio.

We hire people who are organised, technically capable, and take genuine pride in the accuracy and quality of their work. Apollo Ghana is a growing team, and the individuals who join early will help shape how it operates.

Position Summary

The Software Engineer — QA & Technology Support is responsible for expanding Apollo Ghana's quality assurance capability in support of MagellanCx, while also providing software engineering and tooling support to Apollo Ghana's commissioning documentation and MEP coordination operations.

MagellanCx is a commissioning platform under active development. Apollo Ghana currently provides entry-level manual QA support to the MagellanCx team. This role is designed to grow that contribution — moving the function toward engineering-led quality assurance, while simultaneously applying software engineering skills to improve the tools and workflows that underpin Apollo Ghana's documentation delivery.

This is Apollo Ghana's first dedicated software engineering hire. The role sits within the broader Apollo Ghana team and operates as a unified position — the MagellanCx QA workstream and the internal technology support workstream are complementary, and the successful candidate will manage both as part of a single integrated role.

The ideal candidate is technically grounded, highly disciplined, and comfortable working across both a commercial software product environment and a technical infrastructure operations context.

Key Responsibilities

QA Engineering — MagellanCx

Execute structured manual test cases across MagellanCx platform features, workflows, and user journeys.

Identify, reproduce, and log defects clearly — including steps to reproduce, expected results, and actual results.

Validate bug fixes and perform regression testing across new releases and platform updates.

Analyse recurring defect patterns and surface systemic quality risks to the MagellanCx product and engineering team.

Work toward developing and maintaining automated test scripts as capability and tooling mature.

Contribute to test plan development, test case design, and QA documentation.

Collaborate directly with MagellanCx product managers and engineers to align on testing priorities and release readiness.

Represent the Apollo Ghana QA function reliably and professionally within the MagellanCx team.

Technology & Tooling Support — Apollo Ghana

Support the development and maintenance of scripts, automations, and tools that improve the efficiency of Apollo Ghana's commissioning documentation and MEP coordination workflows.

Assist in building or configuring integrations between platforms used by the Apollo Ghana team, including Procore, SharePoint, BIM360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud, and Excel-based trackers.

Provide technical support for data handling, reporting, and tracker management within the documentation function.

Identify manual processes within Apollo Ghana's operations that can be improved through engineering solutions and propose practical approaches.

Support quality and compliance requirements through technical tooling where applicable.

Contribute software engineering input as Apollo Ghana's MEP coordination and commissioning support operations continue to grow.

Documentation & Coordination Support

Provide engineering support to the Apollo Ghana documentation team on complex or technically demanding document workflows.

Assist with maintenance of commissioning trackers, reporting dashboards, and turnover package tools.

Support daily and weekly reporting requirements for Apollo Global project teams and internal leadership.

Maintain accurate records and ensure documentation integrity across all tools and platforms in use.

Systems & Tools

Proficiency in or ability to quickly learn the following platforms is expected:

Python (primary), JavaScript, or equivalent scripting language

Test management and bug tracking tools — Jira, Linear, Trello, or similar

Test automation frameworks — Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar (preferred)

Procore

BIM360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud

SharePoint

Bluebeam

Microsoft Office Suite — advanced Excel and Word proficiency required

Ability to work across technical and non-technical teams and communicate findings clearly to each.

Familiarity with web applications, browsers, APIs, and common software development concepts.

Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage parallel workstreams and deadlines.

Preferred

Experience with QA, software testing, or test automation (e.g. Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar).

Ideal Candidate Profile

This role is designed for a software engineer who wants to build broad technical and operational experience quickly. You will contribute directly to a commercial commissioning software product while also applying your engineering skills to real infrastructure problems within Apollo Ghana's growing offshore delivery function.

You do not need deep experience in both domains from day one. What matters is sound engineering fundamentals, a disciplined and organised working style, and the curiosity to understand how software engineering creates leverage in technical operations environments. This is a foundational hire — the individual who takes this role will have a direct hand in shaping how Apollo Ghana's engineering capability develops.
