Compensation: $1,300 to $1,600 per month
Location: Remote anywhere in LATAM

The role of Junior Accountant holds great importance within GBS Group, as it is an essential part of our organization. Junior Accountants have the valuable opportunity to work alongside seasoned Senior Accountants and Consultants, gaining valuable insights into our clients' businesses. As Junior Accountants grow and acquire experience, they will have the chance to take on more challenging assignments and progress into positions such as Senior Accountants and Client Managers. In the first year, Junior Accountants will have the opportunity to rotate through different areas within our Start-up, Financial, and Tax Advisory practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain financial records for companies by analyzing balance sheets and general ledger accounts.
  • Reconcile bank accounts by gathering and balancing information.
  • Provide financial status information by preparing special reports and completing special projects.
  • Correct errors by posting adjusting journal entries.
  • Maintain general ledger accounts by reconciling accounts receivable and payable; adjusting entries for amortizations; analyzing and reconciling retained earnings; preparing fixed asset depreciation and accruals.
  • Maintain accounting controls by following policies and procedures; complying with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements.
  • Occasional extended business hours may be required when necessary.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting – and +1 year experience or 3.0 GPA.
  • Intermediate Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • Basic Knowledge of QuickBooks


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years experience working in a CPA or Bookkeeping firm
  • Experience filing Sales, Payroll, and Tangible Taxes
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Experience processing payroll
  • Intermediate Knowledge of QuickBooks
  • Experience working with Creative Solutions Suite (UltraTax CS and Practice CS)
  • Accounting experience working with US companies


Skills:

  • Great attention to detail
  • Communication and organization skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-volume work environment
  • Advanced level of English. Must be comfortable reading, writing, and speaking to clients about accounting matters in both English and Spanish.
