Job description

Role Overview

Driven by surging demand for immersive and volumetric content, as well as new perspectives that can unlock creative storytelling, Muybridge is commercialising a genuinely novel technology platform across sports broadcast, premium studio production, and live entertainment. This comes at a defining moment for the broadcast industry: after decades of relative stability, the convergence of GPU computing, computer vision, and autonomous production is fundamentally reshaping how content is captured, produced, and distributed. The buyers, workflows, and value chains that defined the last generation are being rewritten and Muybridge is at the centre of that shift. This is a rare opportunity to be first in - building a territory, owning a pipeline, and closing landmark deals that define a category.

The Director of Business Development - US will be the primary commercial presence across the region. Operating from a home office, you will represent Muybridge independently across a complex, multi-stakeholder value chain: leagues, clubs, venues, broadcasters, production service companies, studio operators, and live event producers. You will carry an annual revenue quota and be expected to over-deliver on it.

Success in this role requires working on two levels simultaneously: managing and developing channel partnerships - the service companies, systems integrators, and broadcast partners through whom deals are often structured and delivered, while also creating demand and building conviction at the top of the value chain with rights holders, leagues, federations, and executive decision-makers. You will be expected to be present at key live deployments, acting as the commercial face of Muybridge on-site, strengthening partner and client relationships in the field, and supporting the deployment team when needed.

This is a senior, self-sufficient role - one for someone equally comfortable in a boardroom and a broadcast truck. You will carry technical conversations with prospects, supported remotely by our technical team, and close enterprise-level deals that often span multiple decision-makers and long sales cycles. You report directly to the CCO and collaborate closely with your East Coast counterpart to ensure cohesive national coverage.

What You'll Do

Revenue Generation & Channel Partner Development

  • Own and manage a structured West US pipeline, forecasting accurately and reporting to the CCO on a regular cadence.
  • Meet and exceed an annual sales quota through a combination of new logo acquisition and expansion within existing accounts.
  • Develop account plans for key strategic targets and execute against them with discipline and creativity.
  • Maintain a rigorous and up-to-date record of all conversations, opportunities, and account activity in the company's CRM system, ensuring full pipeline visibility for the leadership team.
  • Prepare, submit, and negotiate commercial proposals and offers, managing the full arc from initial qualification through to signed agreement.
  • Steer legal documents and partnership agreements to closure, working closely with the CCO and internal stakeholders to navigate complex contract structures and multi-party negotiations.
  • Conduct business and commercial modelling to assess deal economics, validate pricing structures, and ensure sustainable value creation for both Muybridge and its customers and partners.
  • Coordinate closely with the East Coast Director of Business Development to ensure cohesive national coverage, avoid overlap, and maximise joint opportunities where accounts or partners span both territories.
  • Serve as the regional voice on market dynamics, competitor activity, pricing feedback, and emerging customer need.
  • Contribute to commercial strategy, proposal development, and partnership structuring discussions with the CCO and leadership team.

You will deploy this commercial approach across three priority verticals. The three verticals below represent Muybridge's current priority markets in order of revenue focus. As the platform scales, so will the addressable opportunity - spanning additional industries where computer vision and volumetric capture will reshape how content is created and consumed.

1. Sports Broadcast

  • Develop and close opportunities across the US sports broadcast ecosystem: leagues, franchises, venues, host broadcasters, rights holders, production service partners, and technology partners, with a focus on properties and stakeholders based on the West Coast.

2. Studio & Network Production

  • Target sports studios, news operations, scripted and unscripted productions, and film projects where the Muybridge platform creates a step-change in production value or workflow, leveraging the proximity to the world's most concentrated cluster of studio and streaming infrastructure on the West Coast.
  • Build relationships with creative directors, heads of production, technical directors, and commissioning executives across broadcast and streaming.

3. Live Events & Entertainment

  • You will close deals that appear in major broadcast productions + live events seen by millions.
  • Competitive base salary with a 50/50 performance-based structure designed to reward significant over-performance.
  • You will join at a pivotal moment - Series A closed, commercially proven, and ready to scale.
