As demand for advanced networking and infrastructure modernization continues to grow, GigaKOM is seeking a Senior Network Solutions Engineer – Enterprise Networking & Wireless to support enterprise architecture, solution delivery, technical consulting, and client infrastructure initiatives across California.

This role combines advanced network engineering, solution architecture, wireless design, pre-sales collaboration, and client consulting within a highly collaborative and technology-driven environment.

This is a fully remote position supporting client environments across California.


Position Overview

The Senior Network Solutions Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, optimizing, and supporting enterprise networking solutions across campus, branch, cloud-connected, data center, and hybrid environments.

This role works closely with sales teams, solutions architects, and client stakeholders to evaluate infrastructure requirements, develop scalable network architectures, support modernization initiatives, and ensure long-term operational success.

In addition to technical delivery, this position plays a critical role in pre-sales engineering, proof-of-concept initiatives, technical workshops, architecture presentations, and strategic client consulting.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical expert with deep experience across enterprise networking, routing/switching, wireless, SD-WAN, security integration, and multi-vendor infrastructure environments.


What You’ll Do

Enterprise Network Architecture & Engineering

  • Design and implement scalable, secure, and resilient enterprise network infrastructures
  • Architect and support:
    • LAN
    • WAN
    • WLAN
    • SD-WAN
    • Hybrid connectivity environments
  • Configure and optimize advanced Layer 2 and Layer 3 technologies:
    • OSPF
    • BGP
    • EIGRP
    • MPLS
    • VLANs
    • STP
    • VXLAN / EVPN-VXLAN
    • QoS
    • Multicast
    • IPv6
  • Design high-availability and redundant network architectures for mission-critical environments
  • Support campus, branch, and data center network modernization initiatives

Wireless & Campus Networking

  • Design and optimize enterprise wireless solutions using:
    • Cisco
    • Cisco Meraki
    • HPE Aruba
    • Extreme Networks
    • Ruckus (preferred/optional)
  • Conduct wireless assessments, RF analysis, and site survey planning
  • Support Wi-Fi 6 / 6E / Wi-Fi 7 deployments and optimization
  • Manage and support:
    • Aruba Central
    • Cisco Catalyst Center
    • Meraki Dashboard

Security & Network Integration

  • Implement and support secure networking solutions across enterprise environments
  • Integrate infrastructure with:
    • Palo Alto Networks
    • Fortinet
    • Cisco ISE
    • NAC solutions
    • VPN technologies
    • SASE / SSE platforms
    • ZTNA solutions
  • Support Zero Trust initiatives, segmentation, and micro-segmentation strategies
  • Architect secure remote access and identity-aware networking solutions

Pre-Sales Engineering & Technical Consulting

  • Partner with sales teams during technical discovery and solution development
  • Conduct client workshops, whiteboard sessions, and architecture reviews
  • Present technical recommendations to IT leadership and stakeholders
  • Support proposals, RFP/RFI responses, and technical solution validation
  • Participate in proof-of-concept (PoC) and pilot deployments
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients on modernization and infrastructure strategy

Cloud & Hybrid Networking

  • Design and support Azure-connected and hybrid networking solutions
  • Support:
    • Site-to-site VPNs
    • ExpressRoute
    • Cloud connectivity architectures
  • Integrate on-prem and cloud networking environments securely and efficiently

Advanced Troubleshooting & Operational Support

  • Provide escalation-level troubleshooting for complex network incidents
  • Perform root cause analysis and remediation planning
  • Support monitoring, optimization, and lifecycle management of deployed solutions
  • Ensure operational reliability and performance across enterprise environments

Automation & Emerging Technologies

  • Support network automation and infrastructure-as-code initiatives
  • Utilize tools and technologies such as:
    • Python
    • Ansible
    • REST APIs
    • Terraform (preferred)
  • Stay current on emerging networking and security technologies
  • Recommend modernization opportunities and strategic improvements

Documentation & Standards

  • Develop and maintain:
    • Network diagrams
    • Topology documentation
    • Configuration standards
    • Operational procedures
    • Reference architectures
  • Contribute to reusable templates, engineering standards, and best practices


Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in enterprise network engineering and solution design
  • Deep expertise with:
    • Cisco enterprise networking technologies
    • Routing and switching
    • Enterprise wireless solutions
    • Network security integration
  • Strong experience with:
    • Cisco
    • Cisco Meraki
    • HPE Aruba
    • Palo Alto Networks
    • Fortinet
  • Experience designing and supporting enterprise-scale infrastructures
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment

Preferred

  • Cisco CCNP Enterprise (minimum preferred)
  • Cisco CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure strongly preferred
  • Aruba certifications and/or wireless certifications preferred
  • Experience with SD-WAN platforms and network automation
  • Familiarity with Python, Ansible, REST APIs, or Terraform
  • Experience supporting California SLED (K–12, higher education, government) clients
  • Strong client-facing communication and presentation skills
