Job description

The Collective Ace Group is a one-stop service hub in the gaming industry, providing best-in-class solutions for our clients. We're seeking an experienced Game Designer to help shape the core systems of a strategy mobile title.


Role Overview: As a Senior Game Designer, you'll own key gameplay systems and drive player engagement through thoughtful economy design, progression tuning, and live-ops integration. You'll work closely with Product, Engineering, Art, and Analytics in a collaborative, international team, while providing guidance and mentorship to growing designers.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and iterate on core strategy mechanics: exploration, resource economies, tech progression, and combat systems
  • Balance progression curves, difficulty scaling, and reward structures for mobile sessions
  • Create clear design documentation, flowcharts, wireframes, and system specifications
  • Prototype mechanics (paper or in-engine) to validate design hypotheses
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Art to implement and polish features
  • Partner with LiveOps and Analytics to define KPIs and design A/B tests
  • Analyze player data and feedback to optimize mechanics, economy, and monetization
  • Support QA with scenario testing and balance validation
  • Mentor junior designers through design reviews, feedback sessions, and documentation standards
  • Lead design discussions and advocate for player-first solutions across disciplines
  • Drive design quality and consistency across features, establishing best practices for the team

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of game design experience with at least one shipped title
  • Strong understanding of strategy/RPG game economies, progression systems, and meta-loops
  • Experience with live-service games (events, seasons, retention mechanics)
  • Proficiency with design tools (Excel/Sheets, Miro, Figma, Notion, etc.)
  • Familiarity with F2P monetization and game economies
  • Analytical mindset: comfortable with KPIs, player metrics, and data-driven iteration
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to document complex systems clearly
  • Proven ability to mentor team members and elevate design quality
  • Experience leading feature development from concept to launch
  • Preferred - Mobile game design background
  • Strongly Preferred –
    Experience with strategy, 4X, or grand strategy title


Nice to Have:

  • Basic scripting/prototyping skills (Lua, Python, C#, or similar)
  • Hands-on Unity experience
  • Active engagement with player communities
  • Previous experience managing or leading small design teams
