Position Description:  
PingWind is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Software Developer SME to provide expert-level software engineering support, specializing in the design, development, integration, and optimization of advanced software solutions. This role requires deep technical knowledge, leadership in solving complex problems, and the ability to serve as a trusted advisor to both technical teams and business stakeholders. The SME ensures that software applications are scalable, secure, efficient, and aligned with mission or business requirements.
Responsibilities:
Typical Responsibilities/Tasks:• Lead the design, coding, testing, and implementation of software applications and solutions.• Apply advanced knowledge of programming languages, frameworks, and tools to develop efficient and reliable software.• Establish and enforce best practices in coding standards, code reviews, and quality assurance.• Serve as the subject matter expert for software development methodologies, tools, and technologies.• Advise leadership, program managers, and stakeholders on technical strategies, risks, and solutions.• Provide mentorship, training, and technical guidance to junior developers and engineers.• Work closely with systems engineers, cybersecurity, and DevOps teams to ensure seamless integration across environments.• Contribute to system architecture, ensuring software aligns with enterprise or mission objectives.• Optimize applications for performance, security, scalability, and maintainability.• Partner with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define solutions, and deliver high-quality products.• Participate in Agile/Scrum or other development methodologies, contributing as a senior technical resource.• Support proposal development, solution design, and technical roadmaps for future projects.
Required Qualifications
• DoD 8140 Certification
Desired Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.• Proven track record as a technical lead or subject matter expert in complex software projects.
