Overview 

We are seeking a driven and results-oriented Business Development Manager to join our UK Sales team. This is a quota-carrying individual contributor role responsible for identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities across law enforcement, government, and public sector organizations throughout the United Kingdom. 

Reporting to the Vice President, Account Management, you will play a critical role in executing SS8's UK growth strategy while managing the full sales lifecycle—from prospecting and relationship building through contract award. This position is ideal for professionals who bring a strong understanding of UK government procurement processes, established public sector relationships, and experience working with law enforcement and government intelligence organizations.

Key Responsibilities 

Drive Revenue Growth  

  • Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities across assigned law enforcement, government, and public sector accounts throughout the UK. 
  • Develop and execute strategic account and territory plans to achieve growth objectives. 
  • Own the entire sales cycle, including prospecting, discovery, opportunity development, proposal creation, negotiation, and contract award. 
  • Consistently achieve and exceed quarterly and annual bookings targets through effective pipeline management and forecasting discipline. 
  • Maintain a robust sales pipeline and provide accurate forecasting to sales leadership.  

Build Trusted Relationships  

  • Establish and maintain long-term relationships with key law enforcement agencies, government stakeholders, intelligence organizations, consultants, and system integrators. 
  • Engage executive and operational leaders to understand mission requirements and align SS8 solutions with customer objectives. 
  • Serve as a trusted advisor by providing industry expertise, best practices, and strategic guidance.  

Lead Strategic Opportunities  

  • Partner closely with the Vice President, Account Management and the broader sales organization to develop territory strategies and pursue high-value opportunities. 
  • Navigate complex public sector procurement, tendering, and contracting processes. 
  • Lead and coordinate RFI, RFQ, and RFP responses, ensuring high-quality and compliant submissions. 
  • Identify and develop opportunities through government frameworks, procurement vehicles, and partner channels.  

Collaborate Across the Business  

  • Work closely with Product, Marketing, Legal, Engineering, and Operations teams to align customer requirements with SS8 solutions. 
  • Represent SS8 at government meetings, industry conferences, trade shows, and customer events. 
  • Monitor market trends, regulatory developments, procurement activity, and competitive intelligence to inform go-to-market strategies.  

Travel 

  • Travel required (up to 50%) 

Required Experience & Qualifications 

  • 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or account management focused on UK law enforcement, government, and public sector customers.
  • Experience working within or directly supporting a law enforcement agency is required.
  • Proven track record of success in complex, high-value B2G (Business-to-Government) sales environments.
  • Demonstrated experience selling solutions to UK government, public safety, or law enforcement organizations.
  • Strong understanding of UK government procurement, tendering, framework agreements, and contracting processes.
  • Experience working with law enforcement, intelligence, or government agencies.
  • Experience developing and managing opportunities across assigned territories and public sector accounts.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to manage sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Eligibility and willingness to obtain and maintain the appropriate UK Security Clearance.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally, as required. 

Nice to Have  

  • Established network within UK law enforcement, police forces, intelligence, or public safety organizations.
  • Experience selling intelligence, investigative, cybersecurity, communications, or mission-critical technology solutions.
  • Familiarity with UK government procurement frameworks and public sector purchasing mechanisms.
  • Experience working with system integrators, strategic partners, and government consulting organizations.
  • Knowledge of digital investigations, intelligence, or public safety technologies.
