Job description

Allocate is modernizing private markets, making alternative investments more accessible and streamlined for wealth advisory firms and family offices. Backed by leading firms and driven by a mission to remove barriers in private market investing, we leverage over 100 years of collective experience to transform the industry.

We are building an AI-native product organization that moves extremely fast — from idea → prototype → client feedback → production in days, not months.

To do that well, we need a force multiplier and builder.

Your Mission

Increase the velocity of the product organization.

You will sit at the center of product, engineering, design, and leadership — identifying friction, removing blockers, accelerating decisions, and compressing feedback loops so the team can move faster without losing quality.

This is not a traditional project management role. Instead, you will operate as a technical operator inside the product organization, helping ideas move from concept to shipped product as quickly and smoothly as possible.

You will work alongside makers — not above them.

What Success Looks Like

Within your first few months, the team should feel noticeably faster.

Work that used to take weeks happens in days. Blockers disappear before they slow the team down. Engineers, designers, and product managers spend more time building and less time coordinating.

Leadership has visibility into what’s happening without needing constant status meetings.

You identify friction in the system and remove it. You introduce tools, workflows, and habits that compound the team’s effectiveness over time.

When something slows the team down, you don’t wait for permission to fix it.

Your impact is simple:

The team ships better products faster than before you joined.

What You’ll Be Doing

Accelerate delivery

  • Drive rapid feedback loops between prototyping, client input, and production — compressing weeks into days.

  • Keep multiple parallel workstreams moving without creating bottlenecks or bureaucracy.

  • Identify what's blocking a maker and remove it — same day.

  • Keep leadership and key stakeholders informed with signal, not noise: what shipped, what's at risk, what needs a decision.

Act as a force multiplier for the team

  • Create clarity and momentum in ambiguous environments.

  • Identify and surface risks and cross-team dependencies before they become problems.

  • Protect the team’s focus so builders can build.

  • Help the team prioritize the work that matters most right now.

  • Eliminate coordination overhead wherever possible.

Be a builder

  • Treat process as a product — continuously improving it as the team evolves.

  • Use AI tools (Cursor, v0, Claude, etc.) to prototype, draft specs, generate briefs, and unblock the team.

  • Contribute directly to delivery rather than only coordinating others.

  • Continuously experiment with new AI tooling and share what works across the team.

  • Identify where AI can eliminate manual coordination overhead and implement it.

Help scale the organization

  • Evolve tools and workflows as the team grows.

  • Build lightweight systems that improve alignment without slowing teams down.

  • Ensure distributed teams communicate effectively across time zones.

  • Continuously look for ways to increase the speed and effectiveness of the product organization.

What You Bring

This role is for you if you have:

  • Experience shipping real products in fast-moving startup environments; early-stage startup experience strongly preferred.

  • A maker mindset — you would rather prototype a solution than write a slide deck about it.

  • Strong familiarity with modern AI tooling and curiosity about how it changes how teams build software.

  • You are comfortable using AI tools in your daily workflow to improve productivity and coordination.

  • Strong judgment about when to move fast and when to slow down — and the credibility to call it either way.

  • The ability to hold context across business, product, design, and engineering without requiring rigid handoff processes.

  • Excellent communication skills — async-first, direct, and oriented toward decisions rather than status updates.

  • Comfort operating in ambiguity; you create structure rather than waiting for it.

  • High ownership and accountability — when something is stuck, you make it move.

  • Experience working with distributed teams.

  • A Bachelor’s degree. Studies in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience) would be helpful.

This role may not be for you if:

  • You prefer structured environments where responsibilities are narrowly defined — we are a start-up and roles flex to deliver business goals.

  • You are uncomfortable experimenting with AI tooling to improve how teams operate — we are AI-native and heavily leverage AI tools to accelerate growth.

  • You prefer well-defined roadmaps and long planning cycles — we are a nimble organization, and priorities change quickly.

Our Values & Culture:

  • Providing our clients with a world-class experience is our number one priority. We obsessively search for ways to improve the experience for our clients and partners. This requires extraordinary response times, proactivity, and ensuring that everything we do, from product strategy to offline communications, is a top-tier client experience.

  • Challenge convention: Instead of detailing why an idea may not work, we constantly question things to determine how a viable idea may be implemented.

  • Commitment to continuous improvement: We find ways to personally scale each day by pushing ourselves up the learning curve.

  • Meritocracy, not politics: We place the utmost value on results and rewards through merit, not reward actions driven by political agendas or behavior.

  • Civil Discourse is embraced: Open, intellectually curious conversations are required to make the best decisions. Respect is paramount in our dealings, but our mission is always to get the correct answer collectively.

Compensation, Benefits & Other Details:

  • Location: Remote

  • Reports to the Lead Technical Project Manager

  • Base Salary Range: $155,000-$170,000

  • Actual salary will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, location, skills, training, certifications, and education, other relevant qualifications specific to the role, and internal equity and market data. Total compensation may include equity and discretionary performance-based bonuses based on individual, team, and company performance factors.

  • Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, responsible time off (RTO), 401K

  • Employment: Full-time

  • This role will be subject to Allocate's Code of Ethics and related compliance obligations of Allocate.
