Location: SF/ NYC/ Hybrid
Type: Full-Time | Founding Team Opportunity
Navigate is building frontier AI technology for the field workforce—starting with construction. We've partnered with some of the biggest infrastructure companies in the U.S. and have early traction combining AI, spatial computing, and video intelligence.
We've just scratched the surface of what’s possible with spatial video, LIDAR, and computer vision. Now we're looking for a founding computer vision engineer to push this to the next level.
We’re looking for a hands-on, creative CV engineer who wants to build products that live in the real world—not just the lab. You’ll work directly with the founding team to bring video-based intelligence to life, using real footage from job sites, spatial data, and user context.
You'll shape the computer vision layer of our product—from prototyping and modeling to integrating it directly into customer-facing applications.
Design and develop real-time video analysis pipelines, including object detection, tracking, pose estimation, or 3D reconstruction
Explore LIDAR, depth data, or SLAM to improve spatial awareness in vision models
Fine-tune models using real-world, domain-specific data from the field
Collaborate closely with product and engineering to ship features that blend AI, video, and intuitive UX
Experiment with AI prompting or LLM tools to layer intelligence over video data
Help shape the long-term CV strategy and technical architecture
Have 2–6+ years of experience in computer vision, CVML, or related applied AI fields
Are fluent in tools like OpenCV, PyTorch, TensorFlow, or MediaPipe
Have experience working with video data, multi-view camera inputs, or 3D point clouds
Have built and deployed CV models in real-world environments (even messy, imperfect ones)
Are excited about the intersection of AI + physical world—not just screen-based products
Bonus: Have experience with spatial computing, AR, or platforms like Meta Quest, Unity, or Unreal
Bonus: Have worked at companies like Waymo, Cruise, Tesla, Meta, or in research-driven CV roles
Help define the future of spatial AI in a market ripe for transformation
Massive ownership and impact as an early team member
Work with high-agency founders and real customers
Competitive salary + meaningful equity
In-person in SF preferred; remote possible from NYC
