Job description

Miller-Remick is a full-service MEP engineering firm looking for energetic, self-motivated, and innovative individuals to join our team. If you think you are a good fit for this role, we encourage you to apply. 

The Plumbing Engineer will support multiple concurrent capital projects ranging from $5M - $100M across a variety of markets, with a strong focus on healthcare. This person should have a proven history of performing work with efficiency and periodic oversight.

Our clients include federal agencies (e.g. Department of Veteran Affairs, Department of Defense, General Services Administration, and the Federal Bureau of Prisons), as well as state and local governments. Projects have varied degrees of complexity and a wide range of estimated construction costs and include new construction and renovations of hospitals, healthcare and military facilities, federal office buildings and courthouses, state and local government buildings, research laboratories, corrections facilities and site utility infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare plumbing designs, calculations, estimates, reports, and specifications for building projects
  • Support plumbing design on multiple projects, working off established priorities
  • Conduct site surveys of existing conditions
  • Assist with construction punch lists
  • Participate in project design and coordination meetings
  • Communicate with all other disciplines to ensure incorporation of all information into project requirements
  • Accountable for technical quality of engineering tasks on assigned projects

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, and/or a credential such as CPD (Certified in Plumbing Design), and/or equivalent experience; Progress toward PE licensure is preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience designing wide variety of facilities for industrial, commercial, educational, institutional and governmental projects
  • Experience in hospitals and healthcare, military bases, government buildings and courthouses, research laboratories, central steam and chilled water plants, and/or corrections facilities highly valued
  • Strong Revit skills
  • Good planning, organizational, and communication skills
  • Experience with plumbing systems including sanitary, storm, domestic water, and natural gas is required
  • Exposure to fire protection systems (wet/dry/pre-action sprinklers and standpipes) is a plus
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time
  • Travel to client sites as required

The anticipated salary range for this position is $99,400 - $113,600 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors, including experience, qualifications, education, certifications and licensure.
