Job description

This is a remote position.

Seeking a Senior Business Intelligence (BI) Architect for a task lead role on a high-performing BI contract delivering exceptional technical services for our federal government customer. The Senior BI Architect has a strategic role within the Operations/Delivery team and is responsible for designing and implementing innovative and scalable MicroStrategy BI solutions. The position requires a deep understanding of data architecture, business processes, and analytics to deliver actionable insights to drive business growth and efficiency. The Senior BI Architect will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, analyze complex data sets, and create visualizations and dashboards to support data-driven decision making across the organization.

This position also requires experience with the MicroStrategy Cloud for Government (MCG) environment, and/or the AWS GovCloud environment.


The primary responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:

  1. Solutions Design: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and design comprehensive business intelligence solutions. Develop data modes, data integration processes, and data visualization strategies.
  2. Data Analysis: Analyze large and complex datasets to extract meaningful insights. Identify trends, patterns, and outliers to support data-driven decision-making processes.
  3. Data Integration: Design and implement data integration processes from various sources (databases, APIs, flat files, etc.) to create a unified view of the agency’s data.
  4. Dashboard Development: Develop interactive and visually appealing dashboards and reports using MicroStrategy BI to convey insights and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to stakeholders.
  5. Data Governance: Establish and enforce data governance policies, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and security. Collaborate with data owners to maintain high data quality standards.
  6. Stakeholder Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate and communicate with business stakeholders to understand their needs and challenges. Translate business requirements into technical solutions and actionable insights.
  7. Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize the performance of BI solutions. Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies and propose improvements to enhance the system.
  8. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain up-to-date documentation for all BI solutions and processes. Track status for all program deliverables, ensuring ownership and accountability for each. Develop accurate weekly and monthly status reports including team activities, risks, issues, progress toward milestones, and decisions.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or IT related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in a BI Lead Developer/Admin role utilizing MicroStrategy.
  • Strong experience with MicroStrategy Cloud for Government and/or AWS GovCloud environments.
  • MicroStrategy Certified Developer, MicroStrategy Certified Architect Certification (only one required; candidates are not expected to hold both).
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a collaborative team.
  • Ability to think critically and articulately communicate ideas for innovative solutions.
  • Highly developed understanding of client drivers and behaviors.
  • Outstanding organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment, including management of high-volume, competing priorities.
  • Strong customer service acumen and commitment.
  • Sole U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Public Trust clearance.
