Job description

As a Retail Media Data Operations Analyst at Omni Channel Solutions, your role is essential in transforming fragmented reporting from retail media networks, third-party media partners, retailers, and measurement providers into standardized, validated, and analysis-ready datasets. You will serve as the operational bridge between media activation, partner reporting, Business Intelligence, and client analytics.

Your responsibilities will cover the full data preparation lifecycle—from reporting intake and completeness checks to normalization, quality assurance, documentation, and delivery. By ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and usability, you will enable Retail Media and Shopper Marketing teams to dedicate more time to performance analysis, strategic recommendations, and executive storytelling.

You will collaborate closely with Business Intelligence, Retail Media, Shopper Marketing, and other cross-functional teams to maintain reliable reporting processes, identify data-quality issues, and support scalable solutions. Your ability to organize complex datasets, identify inconsistencies, document processes, and communicate clearly will directly contribute to efficient reporting operations and improved client outcomes..

DAILY DELIVERABLES

  • Maintain a centralized inventory of required campaign, retailer, media partner, and measurement reporting, including reporting schedules, missing inputs, and processing status.
  • Collect and organize reporting from partner portals, shared locations, email deliveries, APIs, and other approved sources using established folder structures, file-naming standards, version controls, and retention requirements.
  • Consolidate reporting from spreadsheets, flat files, PDFs, presentations, and self-service reporting platforms into standardized templates and analysis-ready datasets.
  • Normalize campaign, retailer, brand, product, audience, placement, creative, tactic, and business-unit naming conventions and map partner-specific metrics to approved enterprise definitions.
  • Reconcile retailer, product, UPC, campaign, placement, and organizational hierarchies to ensure consistent and reliable reporting across multiple data sources.
  • Perform completeness, accuracy, duplication, reasonableness, and reconciliation checks before datasets are released for analysis.
  • Validate reported spend, impressions, clicks, sales, units, ROAS, audience results, and other applicable metrics against source totals and campaign plans.
  • Identify anomalies, missing reporting dimensions, inconsistent metric definitions, unsupported comparisons, and other data-quality issues; maintain an exception log documenting owners, status, resolution, and downstream impact.
  • Document data transformations, assumptions, exclusions, calculations, mappings, business rules, and quality checks to ensure reporting outputs can be consistently reproduced.
  • Develop reusable templates, mapping tables, validation routines, checklists, and standard operating procedures to improve reporting consistency and efficiency.
  • Identify recurring manual activities that are candidates for automation and translate operational processes into documented requirements for Business Intelligence, data engineering, and Catalyst development.
  • Partner with BI and data engineering teams to test automated ingestion, transformation, validation, and exception-management workflows and support the transition toward scalable, governed data pipelines.
  • Collaborate with Retail Media and Shopper Marketing teams to ensure datasets meet downstream analysis, reporting, and storytelling requirements.
  • Participate in partner onboarding and reporting-requirement discussions when needed, while clearly communicating reporting status, risks, missing inputs, and dependencies to stakeholders.

  • SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Statistics, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in analytics, category management, eCommerce, or shopper insights—preferably in the CPG or retail industry.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas) and PowerPoint; experience with Power BI or other visualization tools is a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with syndicated data sources (NielsenIQ, Circana), retailer POS data, and digital shelf analytics tools.
  • Basic understanding of category management, retail media performance, and omnichannel shopper behavior.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to present data clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Collaborative, proactive, and results-driven work ethic.

PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS (A PLUS)

  • Power BI or Data Analytics Certification
  • Microsoft Excel or Microsoft Power Query Certification
  • SQL or Data Management Certification
  • Retail Media Platform Certifications (Amazon Ads, Walmart Connect, CitrusAd, etc.)
  • Training or certification in Retail Media, Shopper Marketing, Digital Media, or CPG Analytics
  • Experience or training with data-preparation, business intelligence, or reporting automation platforms
