Job description

Serves as the combined DevSecOps and Configuration Management Specialist for pre-production efforts. Provides configuration baseline control throughout the lifecycle of highly complex information systems as well as component software and hardware elements; facilitates and advises the Configuration Control Steering Group (CCSG) and Configuration Control Working Groups (CCWG); maintains allocated, functional, and physical baseline control and performs audit support; reviews all engineering change requests to assess impact upon configuration baselines and logistics support elements; maintains configuration control records and technical documents; works closely with quality assurance and management representatives to ensure an accurate and well-documented product baseline; and prepares directives for change authorization and implementation. This position requires substantial experience in both DevSecOps and configuration management within a cloud environment, with responsibility for defining, implementing, documenting, and continuously improving configuration management processes, procedures, standards, and controls. The role will establish repeatable configuration management practices, ensure effective governance of configuration items and baselines, support change management activities, and manage build and deployment processes to maintain configuration integrity throughout the system lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and execute the configuration management processes and procedures for pre-production efforts, in a cloud-hosted context.
  • Manage and execute builds across the development, test, and integration environments.
  • Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) and configuration management processes leveraging automated configuration deployments and updates.
  • Provide configuration baseline control throughout the lifecycle of the pre-production environment, including component software and hardware elements.
  • Maintain allocated, functional, and physical baseline control and perform audit support.
  • Review all engineering change requests to assess impact upon the configuration baseline and logistics support elements; prepare directives for change authorization and implementation.
  • Maintain configuration control records and technical documents; work closely with quality assurance and management representatives to ensure an accurate, well-documented product baseline.
  • Facilitate and advise configuration control governance bodies (e.g., CCSG and CCWG) as applicable to this task order.
  • Integrate security automation throughout the software development processes and implement automated compliance and governance.
  • Implement and deploy artifact repository management and automated environment provisioning; support container orchestration and microservices deployment within the CI/CD pipeline.
  • Develop SE artifacts demonstrating management of configuration alongside requirements, risk, integration, architecture, and interoperability.
  • Develop training and documentation and perform knowledge transfer.

Qualifications

Years of Experience: Ten (10) years relevant experience (JETS 2 IDIQ CM Specialist - Senior Level LCAT minimum), with substantial experience in both DevSecOps and configuration management in a cloud environment.

Education Level: None. Desired BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems/Technology, or a closely related discipline, or equivalent additional relevant experience.

Clearance Requirements: Secret. Must possess IT-II Non-Critical Sensitive security clearance or Tier 3 (T3) at time of proposal submission.

Certification Requirements: None.

Any other work-related qualifications needed for the role:

  • Substantial experience in both DevSecOps and configuration management within a cloud environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to define and execute configuration management processes and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and execute builds.
  • Experience leading or supervising a team of configuration management specialists.
  • Experience with configuration management and IaC tooling (e.g., TFS, Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Salt) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, OpenShift).
  • Extensive experience working highly complex IT systems. Resume must demonstrate experience working legacy system upgrades, modernization, legacy system transition, data migration and/or system analysis and design. Priority given to personnel with demonstrated experience performing functional and technical solutions decomposition that enables solutions analysis and design, and demonstrated experience implementing solutions with respect to modern database design and modern software languages within the federal Government, specifically within the DoD. AI/ML experience is preferred.
  • Travel to on-site meetings in Columbus, OH (Onsite once per month (average) up to 3 days.)
