Within our Voluntary Benefits department, the Benefit Specialist - Client Relations supports day-to-day client operations and maintains program quality controls by collaborating with the team on executing client deliverables and expectations, providing administrative and operational support and assist in ways to cross sell within their team’s book of business. Benefit Specialists will lead the request for proposal process and review carrier offers to ensure commissions are set effectively. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited, to the following:

  • Supports the team ensuring that all client deliverables are met on time and as expected in the statement of work. 
  • Follows process controls and tools to ensure the outcome of deliverables meet the desired  requirements of the client and the team.
  • Ensures internal process controls are adhered to and operate at the highest level of integrity to optimize client satisfaction. 
  • Support communications management and deliverables including quality review of all materials.
  • Build the RFP workbooks. 
  • Manage the RFP process with the carriers. 
  • Conduct RFP financial modeling. 
  • Complete RFP comparisons.  
  • Assist in the creation/peer review of the marketing results client presentations. 
  • Obtain/request client data for 360, takeovers, RFPs, etc. from client or carrier. 
  • Obtain BOR letters. 
  • Review client and carrier data for completeness and accuracy. 
  • Create marketing disclosure document.
  • Save all pertinent data and manage the upkeep of client folders.  
  • Add new/revise existing opportunities to VB pipeline report. 
  • Support TCAS (create and send rate spreadsheets, obtain, and quality review CIW, etc.). 
  • Test/review enrollment portals and technology. 
  • Assist in completing client management document. 
  • Conduct and manage open enrollment audits. 
  • Support client tasks for renewal. 
  • Support other day-to-day tasks, working in collaboration with the Sr. Benefit Specialist and Sr. Benefit Consultant.
  • Be the primary contact and resource for strategy, marketing, implementation, and day-to-day tasks for cases weighted 50% or less. 

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent work experience 
  • Life, Health & Accident License
  • 3-5 years of Voluntary Benefits experience 
  • Baseline knowledge of voluntary benefit solutions and technology  
  • Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of PowerPoint and MS Excel is preferred (i.e. Ability to perform pivot tables).

  • Follows outlined processes, procedures and utilizes the tools available to ensure the work meets quality standards.

  • Strong financial management skills. 
  • Excellent troubleshooting, decision making and problem-solving skills. 
  • Strong teamwork skills combined with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to follow through on and successfully execute tasks while adhering to specified quality standards. 
  • Demonstrated ability to provide superior customer service and maintain positive relationships with internal and external contacts. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. 
  • Strong self-starter and fast learner including aptitude for learning internal systems, applications, and internal workflow of the department. 
  • Effectively interacts with people at all levels inside and outside of the company.

WORK LOCATION

  • Work is typically performed in a hybrid manner at Marsh McLennan Agency’s Conshohocken, PA office.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $65,400 to $87,700.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
