Job description

About the role

As a Paid Search Manager, you own a set of client accounts end-to-end. You write the strategy, build and launch the campaigns, watch them daily, and write the weekly report that goes to the client. You are the person the client hears from about search.

A large part of this job now runs through AI, and that has changed what the role spends its time on. If that's not how you want to work, this won't be the right fit.

We're a small, growing team. Your responsibilities will grow and change with the company, and you'll have an enormous impact on the business.

What you'll own

Accounts and strategy

  • Own 4 to 6 client accounts across Google Ads (Search, PMax, Demand Gen, YouTube, Shopping) and Microsoft Ads.

  • Write the strategy, planning, and forecasting documents before you build.

  • Own the bidding and account structure calls, and defend them to a client who will likely push back.

  • Run budget pacing off a forecast you built, and say where the month lands before the client asks.

Day to day

  • Stay close to your accounts. The job rewards catching things early.

  • Keyword and search term work, negative keyword architecture, campaign restructures.

  • Write and audit ad copy against our rubric.

  • Delegate build work and review what comes back. You stay accountable for what ships.

  • Write the weekly client report, and the story that goes with the numbers.

AI and tooling (this part is not optional)

  • Run reporting and analysis through Claude using our skills and MCP connectors. A large share of the analytical work here is already AI-generated, and that share is growing.

  • Build and improve your own skills and workflows when a manual process repeats. Several of our current reporting workflows started as someone building a skill for themselves.

  • Judge AI output critically. Nothing reaches a client that you haven't checked yourself.

Diagnosis and measurement

  • Reconcile platform numbers against attribution tools and the client's own reporting, and explain a discrepancy rather than forward it.

  • Catch tracking problems before they show up in a report.

  • Support new business with audits for prospects.

About you

  • 3+ years hands-on in Google Ads. Microsoft Ads experience is a plus.

  • Deep on SEM fundamentals, with opinions you can defend using data.

  • Familiarity with GA4, GTM, and conversion tracking setups.

  • You've built with AI, not only prompted it. A workflow automation, a reporting tool, a model that does something useful, a script that took a manual step out of your week.

  • Comfortable in spreadsheets: pacing models, pivot tables, audit sheets.

  • You write and speak clearly for a specific reader, and you can hold a room with a founder or an exec.

  • Proactive by default for each client. You raise things before anyone asks, and you take ownership of performance outcomes.

  • Bonus: Shopping feeds, YouTube, cross-channel context (Meta, TikTok), or hands-on tracking implementation.

What you'll find here

  • Competitive salary with bonus structure

  • 99% coverage for health, dental, and vision

  • Distributed, remote, and global culture

  • Unlimited vacation with 3 weeks required vacation

  • Unlimited mental health or physical health leave

  • Remote work budget to make it easier to work from wherever you feel most productive!

  • Monthly physical activity budget to get your body moving

  • 16 weeks of fully paid parental leave

  • Stipend for laptop and other home office equipment

  • Indoor plant budget

  • Annual company-wide retreat

  • Yearly stipend for books, seminars, courses, and coaches

  • Matching for charitable donations
