Main objective of the position (purpose of the job)

Responsible for sales, market development and customer relations management within the assigned territory.

 

Main responsibility areas

  • Accountable for the commercial success of sales in the region/area of competence
  • Ensure compliance with Ahlstrom, Division and Business Unit sales strategies, policies and guidelines
  • Provide customer and market insight and build growth strategy and implementation plans
  • Define and execute regional sales strategy
  • Continuously seek new growth opportunities
  • Ensure consistent achievement of key performance indicators (measured through passthrough, growth, profit, revenue, efficiency KPIs)
  • Implement global sales and organization actions and activities in accordance with Business Unit and Division strategy
  • Cooperate to establish annual sales targets and build the sales budget
  • Manage financial performance within the region/area of competence
  • Work closely with our own logistics and technical / development teams and those of the customers to ensure a profitable growth of the business
  • Be knowledgeable in customers' activities in terms of payment, ability to pay on time and credit history
  • Monitor sales and profitability performance against plan
  • Oversees preparation of Sales Budget (Annual Plan) with Sales Managers and negotiates agreements with Head of Sales
  • Manages receivables, past due amounts and finished good stock
  • Reports sales volume and sales activities on a monthly basis to business units
  • Ensures that proper sales processes and procedures are followed, including Commercial Excellence, terms and conditions, Customer Contact system, consignment programs, exclusivity arrangements, and warehouse programs
  • Works with Business Unit management team to ensure Ahlstrom is properly represented at trade shows and industry organizations

Education, qualifications and skills required

(required degree and previous work experience; language, IT and other skills, traveling etc.)

  • University Bachelor/Master degree in marketing, economics or equivalent
  • 5-10 years of sales, product or business management experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Creative thinking and technical capability to come up with new ideas 
  • Good leadership skills
  • Able to develop close networking relationships at all levels of organization, in different languages and cultures
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • End-to-end process understanding 
  • Business environment understanding
  • Strong drive for delivering results
  • Knowledge of IT systems (Ahlstrom software applications (IBP, CRM & ERP), Microsoft office tools, SAP)
  • Languages: Fluent English.
