We operate globally with offices in the US (NYC, Austin, Miami, Mountain View), APAC (Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Singapore), and India. Our award-winning, people-centric culture—recognized by Inc. as a Best Workplace for three consecutive years—emphasizes transparency, ownership, and continuous mastery.

About The Role:

We're looking for a Product Development Associate to join our New Product Development (NPD) team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with data, solving open-ended problems, and evaluating new datasets and product opportunities. As a Product Development Associate, you'll play a key role in assessing third-party datasets, supporting new product development efforts, and helping identify opportunities that create value for our clients and business. You'll work closely with engineering, partnerships, and business stakeholders to drive projects from idea through evaluation and recommendation.

While a highly independent individual contributor role that offers significant autonomy, you will have access to all the support and collaboration needed to drive your work forward. You'll often be given a problem rather than a prescribed solution and will be expected to determine the best approach, analysis, and path forward. We expect East/West Coast/etc. work hours.

As Our Product Development Associate You Will:

  • Evaluate and build upon third-party datasets to assess quality, business value, and potential use cases.
  • Define key questions, success metrics, and analytical frameworks for open-ended projects.
  • Conduct quantitative analyses and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Support the development and improvement of new products, datasets, and data-driven initiatives.
  • Work alongside other analysts to plan, develop, and execute complex projects.
  • Prioritize high-impact opportunities and drive progress with as much autonomy as possible.
  • Explore new use cases, methodologies, and applications for datasets and products.
  • Leverage AI tools, LLMs, and automation to improve research, analysis, and productivity.
  • Contribute to team knowledge, tooling, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate effectively across engineering, partnerships, product, and business teams.

You Are Likely To Succeed If you:

  • Have 2–4 years of experience in data analytics, data science, alternative data, or a related field.
  • Possess strong SQL and/or PySpark skills and are comfortable working with large datasets. Have experience with modern data platforms such as Databricks.
  • Can translate ambiguous business questions into structured analyses and insights.
  • Demonstrate strong judgment and use data to support recommendations and decision-making.
  • Are comfortable using AI tools and LLMs to improve efficiency while maintaining independent critical thinking.
  • Thrive in open-ended environments with high ownership and autonomy.
  • Communicate clearly and work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders or have experience partnering cross-functionally with engineering and business teams.
  • Are curious, experimental, and excited to uncover new opportunities.

What We Offer:

Our compensation package includes comprehensive benefits, perks, and a competitive salary:

  • We care about your personal life, and we mean it. We offer flexible work hours, flexible vacation, a generous 401K match, parental leave, team events, wellness budget, learning reimbursement, and more!
  • Your growth at YipitData is determined by the impact that you are making, not by tenure, unnecessary facetime, or office politics. Everyone at YipitData is empowered to learn, self-improve, and master their skills in an environment focused on ownership, respect, and trust. See more on our high-impact, high-opportunity work environment above!
  • The annual base compensation for this position is anticipated to be up to $135K. The final offer may be determined by a number of factors, including, but not limited to, the applicant's experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, as well as internal team benchmarks.

The total compensation package includes a mix of base, equity, and benefits.

This role may be performed fully remotely within the United States. Please note that our US headquarters are located in NYC. Income may be subject to New York State tax withholding.

Please note that for this position, we are not able to consider candidates who currently or in the future will require visa sponsorship.

We are committed to equal employment opportunity regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, marital status, disability, gender, gender identity or expression, or veteran status. We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
