Job description

Position Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Director / Head of Tumor Immunology to lead scientific strategy and research activities supporting the discovery and development of next-generation immuno-oncology therapies.

This leadership position will play a critical role in target identification, pathway validation, and assay development while providing scientific direction for multispecific antibody programs. Working closely with cross-functional research teams and executive leadership, you will drive projects from early discovery through IND-enabling studies and establish strong collaborations with academic and industry partners.

The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in tumor immunology together with proven leadership experience advancing multispecific or bispecific antibody programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and lead experimental strategies for pathway validation and target identification in collaboration with cross-functional scientific teams.
  • Develop and optimize in vitro and in vivo assays to evaluate novel therapeutic targets and antibody candidates.
  • Execute, interpret, and validate experimental results while communicating scientific findings to research teams and executive leadership.
  • Lead multidisciplinary research projects and collaborate with scientists to achieve program milestones.
  • Drive multispecific antibody discovery programs from early research through IND-enabling activities.
  • Build and manage collaborations with academic institutions, CROs, and commercial research partners.
  • Provide scientific leadership and strategic input on immunotherapy, T-cell engager (TCE), and immune-oncology research initiatives.
  • Mentor scientists and contribute to the growth of a high-performing research organization.


Requirements

  • PhD or equivalent in Biological Sciences, Immunology, Bioengineering, or a related scientific discipline.
  • 5+ years of laboratory experience in academia, biotechnology, or the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Proven experience serving as Project Leader for multispecific or bispecific antibody programs through at least the IND filing stage.
  • Strong expertise in tumor immunology, immune-oncology, and target discovery.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with:
    • In vitro and in vivo assay development
    • Cell and molecular immunology
    • Multi-color flow cytometry and immune cell phenotyping
    • Tissue isolation techniques
    • Functional immunology assays
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing highly technical research teams.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex scientific concepts clearly.

Preferred

  • Deep scientific understanding of immunotherapy and T-cell engager (TCE) development.
  • Experience identifying and initiating innovative oncology research programs.
  • Experience managing external scientific collaborations.
  • Chinese language proficiency is advantageous.
  • Chinese nationals, Chinese-American candidates, or professionals with experience working in China are highly desirable.
