We’re looking for a Manager Sustainability Communication (f/m/d) to join our Group Communication & Investor Relations Department at our headquarters in Heidelberg, Germany.

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE

In this role, you will drive the global narrative for sustainability and related strategic topics. You’ll help position Heidelberg Materials as a leader in decarbonizing and digitalizing our industry, developing storylines that bring our strategy, products, and innovations to life.

  • Develop and maintain global narratives and key messages on sustainability, decarbonisation, circular economy, sustainable products and other strategic topics (corporate themes, digitalization, transformation)

  • Act as first point of contact for your topics within Group Communications, working closely with experts, central functions, and country organisations to ensure alignment

  • Help plan and manage global content and campaigns, integrating group and country perspectives into a coherent content pipeline

  • Responsibility for the topic-specific content pipeline, including the audience specific adoption of materials and the integration of country examples and best practices to strengthen the storyline 

  • Support for countries in content adaptation and activation ensuring a systematic feedback loop into the planning cycle

  • Support the development of narratives and key messages in topic‑related issue or crisis situations

YOUR PROFILE

You’re a communicator by heart with a strong grasp of sustainability and corporate communications, and a talent for making complex ideas accessible and engaging.

  • Degree in communications, journalism, sustainability, or a related field

  • 5+ years of experience in content strategy, corporate or sustainability communications in an international environment

  • Outstanding writing skills with the ability to develop compelling narratives and messages for complex corporate topics across a variety of formats

  • Strong editorial expertise, from content creation and briefing to quality assurance across channels

  • Proven experience in managing global projects and campaigns, including country rollouts

  • Excellent command of German and English; additional languages are an advantage
