R&D unit in KTI is responsible for developing digital services at KONE. It’s the development engine for our Digital Services such as KONE 24/7 Connected Services, Office Flow and Partnership Ecosystem. Our common goal at KONE is to keep the end users safe and people flow uninterrupted. KONE moves 2 billion people every day and that means our services can really make cities better places to live.

We are now looking for

Head of Domain, Field engineering for Maintenance, Repair and Installation development

to lead KONE India R&D field engineering team for maintenance and repair method development, both on-site and off-site (remote) inspections and interventions. The role will focus on transforming traditional maintenance operations from visit based conventional approach to data driven digitally enabled service delivery including inspections and repairs.

Work will require leadership experience and knowledge in Preventive Maintenance and Repairs, digitalization, maintenance strategy development and reliability analyses. You will work together with several R&D, IT and innovation units with close collaboration with business lines and country companies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the Preventive Maintenance to deliver high-quality solutions and operational excellence.
  • Act as Technical Lead in key projects, like maintenance visits content & methods optimization, driving digital maintenance process development and alignment across teams.
  • Serve as Innovation Champion for the Field Engineering domain, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and piloting new technologies and practices.
  • Conduct and support reliability centered maintenance based on data analyses and RAMs simulation (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability). Optimization is bringing insights for operational efficiency and way how to implement service delivery processes.
  • Ensure compliance with maintenance-related codes & standards, regulations, contracts and company policies.
  • Collaboration and co-creation within R&D, global business lines and KONE country companies.
  • Monitor performance metrics (Field productivity, COR, Uptime) and drive actions to meet or exceed targets.
  • Define and follow internal KPIs to measure domain productivity

To be successful in this role, the preferred candidate will have

  • MSc or BSc in relevant field.
  • Proven experience in maintenance management or repairs related to long-term service agreements to maintain customer assets at large scale.
  • Strong leadership and people management capabilities.
  • Expertise in RAM methodologies and DATA analyses concepts.
  • Rule based ML models and generative AI implementation to development and methods.
  • Familiarity with maintenance processes, systems and development.
  • Analytical thinking and problem solving as well as capability analyze data & trends.
  • Passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
