We are building brand-new, greenfield solutions from the ground up, disrupting traditional workflows, and leveraging modern technologies to deliver unmatched value to our customers. We are looking for a forward-thinking UI/UX Designer to join our product team and help shape the future of our platform.

Role Summary

We are looking for a skilled UI/UX Designer to lead the visual and interaction design of our next-generation B2B SaaS platform. In this role, you will untangle complex enterprise workflows and transform them into seamless, intuitive web and mobile interfaces.

You’ll act as a strategic partner to Product Management and Engineering within an agile development loop. Beyond crafting day-to-day features, you will lead usability and design sessions with stakeholders, leveraging concepting tools to accelerate discovery and design of our system. Establish new scalable patterns that keep our growing product visually cohesive, accessible, and fast to build, while also proactively identifying problem solving opportunities as we go.


Responsibilities:

  • Understand and reconcile complex, interdependent and occasionally competing requirements to create elegant UI solutions.
  • Apply best practices and established design patterns to common design problems.
  • Collaborate with Product to balance UI design with engineering effort and business priorities.
  • Present and collaborate user experience interface concepts and design approaches using wireframes or other tools clearly and convincingly.
  • Work with developers to implement designs and validate features as they are built.
  • Communicate UX best practices to successfully promote and build consensus for your ideas and designs.
  • Establish and maintain UX design guidelines, using design assets, specs, and guidelines to communicate UI direction to stakeholders and implementation teams.
  • Continually improve UX design through usability testing and other user feedback forums.
  • Stay current with the latest visual and interactive design trends and thinking.
  • Responsible for the overall aesthetic vision for AkitaBox products, ensuring design cohesiveness from end to end.
  • Look for efficiency in design workflow and recommend ways to improve the design and development partnership.
Requirements
  • 5+ Years professional experience working as a UI/UX Designer in the digital design field, successfully delivering web, mobile and/or software apps.
  • BA or BFA in a relevant field, or equivalent number of years of relevant experience.
  • Able to juggle multiple priorities and projects in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge and understanding of software product lifecycle and experience working in a collaborative agile environment.
  • Must understand mobile design, responsive design and be proficient in designing for touch devices.
  • Strong understanding of user experience, usability and accessibility principles.
  • Deep knowledge of user-centered design principles & design.
  • Experience with UX Research methodologies.
  • Ability to build high fidelity interactive wireframes. Expert proficiency in tools like Sketch and InVision.
  • Experience with web and mobile development technologies (e.g. HTML and CSS).
  • Experience working with dashboards, multi-step forms, and progressive disclosure patterns.
