  • Encourage Critical Thinking – Promote inquiry-based learning, spatial analysis, and the application of geographic models to understand real-world issues.

  • Assess Student Progress – Evaluate student performance, provide constructive feedback, and support students’ academic growth.

  • Adapt Lessons to Student Needs – Tailor lessons to different learning styles, paces, and levels to ensure all students grasp key concepts.

  • Maintain Communication – Collaborate with students and their families to monitor progress and address challenges. Provide regular updates and recommendations for improvement.

  • Stay Updated – Keep current with AP curriculum changes, new teaching methods, and best practices for delivering geography instruction.

  • Expertise in both Physical Geography and Human Geography.

  • Familiarity with the AP Human Geography exam format and strategies for preparing students for both multiple-choice questions and free-response questions (FRQs).

  • Ability to engage students in meaningful discussions, case studies, and real-world applications of geographic knowledge.

  • Strong classroom management skills, both in-person and virtually.

  • Excellent communication skills to explain complex geographic concepts clearly.

  • Proficiency in using online teaching tools and learning management systems (e.g., Google Classroom, Zoom, interactive whiteboards).
