Senior Architect Java and AI Developer

Architecture & Technical Leadership

• Act as technical authority for backend architecture across core Java platforms and services.
• Own and evolve system architecture, integration patterns, and platform design for both existing products and new market initiatives.
• Ensure architectural decisions balance scalability, security, performance, maintainability, and cost.
• Provide clear architectural direction through diagrams, ADRs, reference implementations, and standards.
   

AI‑Enabled Engineering

• Support and enable the adoption of AI-assisted development practices in collaboration with AI leadership
• Use AI tools effectively for design, analysis, and implementation support
• Work closely with AI leadership to translate AI capabilities into scalable, secure, and maintainable system designs.
• Apply sound engineering judgment to determine when AI is appropriate versus deterministic solutions.
• Define guardrails and best practices for using AI to accelerate design, coding, and business‑logic reasoning.
• Partner with engineering managers to upskill teams in effective and responsible AI usage.
   

Business Logic & Domain Mastery

• Develop deep understanding of core business domains and rules embedded in the platform.
• Ensure business logic is correct, explicit, testable, and maintainable, avoiding unintended coupling or hidden complexity.
• Support teams in modelling complex rules and workflows using clean, well‑structured design patterns.
   

Product & Cross‑Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Product Management to:
  • Assess technical feasibility of new features and markets
  • Shape architectural approaches early in discovery
• Translate business strategy into clear technical execution plans.
• Support SLT with technology strategy input, options analysis, and risk assessment.
   

Engineering Excellence & Governance

• Define and uphold coding standards, architectural principles, and design guidelines.
• Ensure AI usage aligns with existing engineering standards, security requirements, and operational practices.
• Review and guide complex designs and high‑risk changes.
• Support governance around:
  • Technical debt management
  • Security and compliance expectations
  • Platform stability and extensibility
